I said when the fight was signed.....IF ANYTHING, Maidana would keep coming and keep coming.....and keep coming. And he did. That was the biggest difference. Floyd was still pretty razor sharp with his counters, and speed. Maidana just did better than most anyone thought because he's actually better than most anyone thought.
Floyd missed wayyyyyyyy more punches than I have seen him miss. Plus Chino was jabbing with him. Chino. Can't. Jab. With. Floyd. That was worrisome but he is 37 and still the best out. Tough competitive exciting fight. But a clear win for Floyd.

I really, really don't see Floyd fighting Lara.

Lets give Floyd Round 2 then (all 3 judges gave it to him and on my card he lost it). Then you have 115-113 Floyd. All I'm saying is that Floyd is past his best and needs to get out now, and 116-112, 117-111 scores are not at all fair. When they were announcing the winner, Floyd looked very concerned, he didn't even know himself if he won.

I deff agree .. And if this ppv did not do better than 1.1 million the rematch would have to be the same re coup as canelo making up for gurrero numbers.

I see this the only way to meet the contract expectations.

Which could mean if he beats Marcos second time around .. He takes one more gurrero:maidana numbers ppv only to close his career with a huge seller

Yeah, he was pawing at his eye for a bit. Haha. I felt like how you felt. But it might've been him trying to clear his vision though when you think about it.

I thought Mayweather won the 4th round clearly despite being bothered by the cut, I counted 4-5 counter left hooks there, Maidana missed heavily. I'll rewatch in a bit.

Yeah it totally threw him off - he seemed very offended (like when Ortiz tried to butt him on the ropes).

You said it yourself, all judges and most scorers give him round 2. That's 7-5. If you give him another round (round 11? or was it 8? I have to rewatch to remember) then it's 8-4. Not that unreasonable.

You guys are always talking about contract expectations, as if that's Mayweather's problem. His money is guaranteed. Showtime knowingly and willingly knew they could lose money on the deal. Bob Arum said this exact same thing. They still rolled the dice though to get that market share.

Fat Dan had 7-5 Floyd too

I can't find 9 rounds for Floyd, and I think 8 would be a little unfair to Maidana, though if you scored the close rounds for Floyd, I guess you could.

Floyd was really close, but it was fairly clear, it was just super competitive. I would like a rematch if Mayweather-Pacquiao isn't made.
Let Khan fight Brook/Porter, Thurman, Guerrero, etc. Then he can fight Floyd if he wins a fight like that.
So in other words, you just want a rematch? Lol
