I don't think the ref was firm enough. All throughout the build up to the fight all u heard from team Maidana n Garcia was how dirty and rough they were going to be with Floyd then u had the glove controversy a point should have been taken away as soon as Maidana landed the 2nd foul just to make it clear, i think it would of made for a better fight had Weeks cut the BS out early

Floyd was holding a lot. Khan was deducted a point in his fight, but Floyd wasn't. I thought Floyd also landed some sneaky low blows in the fight. I guess when you're a Floyd-worshiper Floyd can do no wrong in your eyes. He's perfect.

Yup, Maidana landed brutal punches inside the body and that overhand right when it landed would have knocked out a bull, and it landed several times.

If Mayweather wants to keep hi zero he'd best retire right now. Clearly he's not the fighter he once was. He really looked his 37 yrs of age tonight. 5 or 6 yrs ago Maidana wouldn't have touched Floyd. Tonight he came close to beating him. With the heavy handed young Keith Thurman and other hungry welterweights waiting in the wing Floyd would do well to call it a day. Even Khan might beat him if they fight and Khan wouldn't have stood a chance way back then.

People said the very same thing after the Cotto fight. Just accept that fighters with a relentless style that can bully Floyd around give him his toughest fights and understand that it just comes down to styles make fights. How about giving those fighters some credit? I guess the standards are SO high for Floyd that he isnt allowed to have a close fight without people feeling hes on the decline because they're so acustomed to him completely dominating his opposition, then go on to discredit the opponent by saying he never belonged in the ring... lol this is how its been for Floyd, the realest thing hes ever said is "I will never get the credit I truly deserve.." Great fight. I had FMJ by 1 point, could see him emerging by 2 points. I just dont understand Maidana's stradegy of using that goofy overhand "clubbing" right. He swings it so wide I can see it coming from yesterday.

Yet it was effective enough to have him losing by a point against the best fighter of this era...the awkwardess of the shot is why it worked. That & his lack of respect for floyd.
