This is why Floyd really won't fight Pacquiao. Because Manny is quicker than Maidana, has those same angles of punches that are awkward to see coming, and will make you fight every second of every round. Floyd is in a tough spot. He won't fight Manny still, he won't fight Thurman, or Porter now. He's not going to give Maidana a rematch, he's not fighting Provo, and Khan beating Collazo tonight does not warrant a Mayday Payday. So who can Floyd fight now???? Maidana beat the phukk out of him tonight and the best part is FLOYD knows it! Pacquiao would have eaten Floyd alive tonight!

Maidana won a very close split decision in my eyes(115-113 for chino).A rematch should happen ,and i hope it does. its probably the first time since maybe cotto,that someone has given Mayweather trouble .It was a close, competitive,and interesting fight(though i think mayweather might have lost a touch of his game) i just think maidana did more to win the early rounds and some mid rounds.oh well i will watch the fight again and judge without commentary, but like you said it could have gone either way. this might seem ******(even contradictory), and you can ignore it, but i think maidana was robbed.Well i cant wait for that rematch!!

Agreed. Let's not forget that Mayweather and his puppet Shaefer made Maidana wear pillows for gloves. It reminded me of Pacquiao when he fought Morales the first time...

If Mayweather wants to keep hi zero he'd best retire right now. Clearly he's not the fighter he once was. He really looked his 37 yrs of age tonight. 5 or 6 yrs ago Maidana wouldn't have touched Floyd. Tonight he came close to beating him. With the heavy handed young Keith Thurman and other hungry welterweights waiting in the wing Floyd would do well to call it a day. Even Khan might beat him if they fight and Khan wouldn't have stood a chance way back then.

Very good fight. Marcos Maidana gave a good account of himself by bringing the fight to Floyd. I say a rematch is very possible given Maidana will be the most available. Then I hope Khan fights Porter at the end of the year and if he wins it will definitely be him and Mayweather in May of 2015.

I don't think the ref was firm enough. All throughout the build up to the fight all u heard from team Maidana n Garcia was how dirty and rough they were going to be with Floyd then u had the glove controversy a point should have been taken away as soon as Maidana landed the 2nd foul just to make it clear, i think it would of made for a better fight had Weeks cut the BS out early

Just a real screw job just like Bradley-Pacquiao I & Bradley-Provodnikov. Just a real shame. I said all along, Maidana does not intimidate. He flat man'd down Floyd, and beat him up tonight; the first 6 rounds weren't even close. Floyd very concerned and uncomfortable all night. He KNEW. There were no 10-8 rounds, mathematically NO way Floyd wins a decision tonight, NOR did he deserve one. With a live mic, Floyd says if the fans want them to do it again, they'll do it again, but that's all BS... Floyd wants no part of Maidana, he wants no part of Thurman, he wants no part of Pacquiao, he won't fight Porter after this performance.... and Khan beating Collazo does not warrant a Mayweather pay day. "The first 6 rounds wernt even close" I stopped reading right there because your post lost all credibilty. What were you watching? Rounds 1-6 were the closest rounds of the fight. When we talk about the close rounds in the fight, those are the rounds we're talking about. Mayweather clearly won rounds 7, 9-11 while Maidana clearly won round 8, and the 12th round comes down to preference and could have gone either way. I personally gave Mayweather 3 of the first 6 because Im not in awe but a fighter bullrushing and throwing wild shots and landing so few of them despite the way it looks, Ive seen enoug Boxing for too long to fall for that. I think its 8-4 7-5 and would entertain arguments of a draw.
