Even Oscar said in a chat on ESPN he thinks it would have been a DRAW if Chavez was on his prime. Yeah he was 33 yrs old but he had 100 fights under his belt. YPu cant tell me any fighter is not deterated after 100 fights

Ring wear >>>>>>> age when it comes to a fighters shape. That has always been true and it will always be true.

Meldrick Taylor would have completely destroyed Diego Corrales and he would have soundly beaten Jose Luis Castillo, possibly knocking him out late in the fight. He was a complete class ahead of both of those fighters...which is not to knock them because they are very good fighters in their own rights. Taylor was special.

Taylor would have been the king of the 140 pound division had he not run into Chavez.

Chavez didnt fight top guys till 1994?,lololol. That alone shows how dumb you are. How you say Chavez never relied on speed is why he wasent deterated is ****en bull****. Mostly every fight Chavez was in was a ****en war, if that doesnt take anything out of you then I dont know what does. The fact is, Chavez was never beaten at his own game. It took Whitaker to jab, counter and get the **** out of there to beat the great Chavez.

Chavez would have ko'd both Castillo and Corrales. Remeber Castillo was a sparring partner or Chavez and that what has allowed him to get the experiance needed to become the fighter he is today.

Which fighter did Chavez crush that you hold hate for the guy?

Let me put a end to this thread! Chavez was a great fighter & no one saying he was not a great fighter. I'm not gonna say that Chavez wasn't great. But he did lose many of his big fights. Also he was beaten by guys like Laporte, Randell & Lockridge which I don't consider great fighters. It's a fact that he was awarded many gift, I think we can all admit that.

Damn his little son got a gift just last week, like father & son

randall i agree, but laporte and lockridge I would have to watch the fights again.

and if you consider his fighs against oscar his big fights, that's like jones big fights were against tarver, hopkins' against taylor and so on, sugar ray robinson at middle in the middle-late 50s, duran fighting at 154, 160, oscar at 154,160 and so on... like the others fighters I mentioned he was not in his prime by that time and/or not at his best weight.

of course he was obviously schooled by pea, but who wasn't?

and I also think he should have had his first loss against taylor, who he destroyed anyway and would have beaten any night after that one.
