You know, removing padding doesn't necessarily help fighters hit harder.

Padded gloves were introduced to protect fighters hands, the padding allows a fighter to load up on their punches a lot more.

I think they just look at golovkin and want to hit like him so are copying his preference for less padding. It won't help maidana.

The problem with you Floyd haters is that you assume that people who have a common sense view is some how a "Floidiot" and opinion irrelevant. Well boxing Gloves are padded for both the protection of the puncher and the opponent, there are rules for boxing gloves used in a professional boxing match, rules that include padding. Now you have a glove manufacturer who put on the the glove for a second and said he cant tell because hes worried about hand safety. That's fine he's not the one getting punched in the face. Now if you know anything about boxing and boxing gloves, you could plainly see in the video there's something wrong with those gloves. Its really COMMON SENSE.

If I commented on the misleading's of every article on boxing scene i would be as clueless as the majority of these posters. The fact is the article doesn't give any details on what actual gloves will be used in the fight, so as i have not made any judgement on what gloves are being used, it is my belief that based on the video both set of gloves looked to be low on padding. And my original comment was based on the video.

Maybe you should watch the video again. The commission did not approve the red gloves in the video and we don't have any other information as to what gloves will be used. Contract is irrelevant if the commission deems the Gloves unsafe. Maidana will have to use different gloves if this is the case.

I'm not a Floyd hater. I do find the ******nedness of the marketing strategies he pursue to be noxious as hell, but what can you do.

"Floidiot" is a term of endearment for his biased nutthuggers.

Most people with a common sense approach (that excludes Floidiots basically by default) have made plenty of comments supported by evidence and reasoning that go against what you are claiming. The red gloves are approved by the commission, Maidana is allowed to wear them per contract stipulations, and this is just a stunt by Mayweather.

Yes, because Floyd's rhetorical outburst during his cheap ploy to strongarm Maidana into wearing the gloves that Floyd chooses is more valid data than the Nevada Commission's own official position.
