Here's what apparently went over everyone's head. At around 2:30, Floyd gives the glove to the guy in the green shirt (who is he, a glove manufacturer?) who notices nothing amiss ("Um, I don't, I don't make nothing like this so I couldn't tell you. I don't know, because, I worry more about hand injuries so.."

And then at about 2:40, the important part,

Floyd: "Put him in the same s**t as me. He fighting in the same s**t as me."

Garcia: "Why don't you where these ones, too?"

Floyd: "No, no, no. We ain't going to be able to even plan for it. You gonna put him in the same s**t as me."


The Mayweather carnival show rolls on. Not that I blame them (Floyd is a major money generating enterprise on par with some corporations), but Mayweather's use of tactical media manipulation is ever-present.

Floyd uses grant exclusively for years and the foam Grants. of course he is going to try on the MX gloves and feel less padding. that is the point. It's a different brand. If he wanted Grants with the foam for his opponent put it in the contract or STFU about it. the red MX Everlasts are approved . Floyd cant do sh-t about it now.

You know, removing padding doesn't necessarily help fighters hit harder.

Padded gloves were introduced to protect fighters hands, the padding allows a fighter to load up on their punches a lot more.

I think they just look at golovkin and want to hit like him so are copying his preference for less padding. It won't help maidana.
