CHavez got his "sterling" record fighting bums. When it was high time he faced elites, he got himself beaten and beaten badly.

Results are what matters not superficial records.

I hate to be the first to bring this to you, but but that's what a record is: the results of the fights involving a certain fighter

By the way i see you guys bet like run with knifes in the last page of this treath how do u do that?

Anyone who believes that Floyd was offered SEVEN MILLION is a complete idiot. WHERE IN THE **** WOULD THAT MONEY COME FROM??

Nobody knows who Margarito is. Floyd and Gatti SHARED seven million dollars. And gatti is ten times the draw that AM is. Erik Morales and Pacquiao made a Fraction of that. ETC.

You know who makes seven mil among smaller fighters?? Delahoya and Trinidad. Period.

very true... I don't consider JCC as a legend, he is fighting BUMS that's why his record is so high. He struggled against Elite Fighters.

** You boys struggle when your mommy changes your diapers.

Floyd ain't even half way to where Chavez's record was when he was first beaten, and with 1 title win in 3 yrs, Floyd sure ain't gonna be breaking Chavez record 30+ title fights. Keep on filling them diapers. When you get older you can move seamlessly to Depends and change yourselves!

your right it will be similar fight but IMHO a different ending,
no last second KO, PBF defense way better than Taylor, PBF by UD...

Results are not what matters dude. I would choose a fighter who fought p4p elites and won over them rather than a fighter who's got 999999999999999999999999 wins over bums yet failed miserably to deal with elites.

Chavez is one such guy. He can ean easily win 9999999999999 times against bums and yet when it's high time to deliver against elites, he failed. And failed miserably.

That is not what happened... wake up ... he was loosing a COMPETITIVE fight among greats... it may not have been the result u wanted, but the fact is he messed taylor up, he grinded him down, and when he had his chance he struck and taylor went down.

Forever changing a person through giving them a beating is anything but lucky, and changing a great fighter, is anything but overrated.
You don't mean to tell me that Richard Steele's stoppage was a good one. I don't seriously think that Meldrick would've been further injured in the couple seconds that remained. Do you?

Chavez did have some big wins, but it is a fact that he built that incredible winning streak fighting Tijuana taxi cab drivers. He should've fought the elite earlier in his career, instead of fighting bums, and he would've fared better against the elite.

                      Chavez - Mayweather

The comparison to Taylor-Chavez is not as close as the comparison to Whitaker-Chavez when it comes to complete boxing skills. Mayweather has every bit the skill, speed and technical ability that Pernell had...who I think beat Chavez.

When you add to this that Mayweather punches harder than Whitaker and is a better body puncher and inside fighter than Whitaker was, then I think Chavez would lose. The only guy I think that gives Mayweather something to really think about is Roberto Duran at welter.
