Yeah, that's majorly annoying. I can't even count the number of times people here have told me in conversation and karma that Duran was a brawler.

Another one they do that with is Marvin Hagler. 'Legendary Nights' (and Beyond the Glory, as well as other boxing documentary series) is to blame for the vast majority of the blatant ******ity that is frequently accepted as the truth among boxing fans.

It's infuriating on one hand, but beneficial on the other. At least when they spout dumb **** like that they're letting you know that the only experience they have with that particular fighter is via highlight reels and biased television pieces. At least with that information you can ignore their future posts.

It's because the fight was very much up in the air and people can't understand why Duran could have possibly quit under those circumstance. If he was getting dominated no one would wonder why he quit.
I've always suspected that Duran threw the fight to win money on it.

Once again another fighter in close fight when asked about it says I won 8 to 4. Does any fighter win 7-5 or 9-3? Is it that fighters only think 6+6 and 8+4 =12? lol.

It is what it is. Floyd lost the first and won the second legite. Similar to Bradley against Pac, but on this occasion, Bradley won the first illegitamely, and lost the second legite.

its pointless to argue who won that first fight...a real boxing fan knows...

A bit like Pacquiao winning the third fight against Marquez as illegitimately as Mayweather winning the first Castillo fight (i.e they could've gone either way) and losing the fourth one as clean as you like, no dispute ( i.e KTFO).

I'm sure you like your analogy better though.

Mayweather knows he didnt win that fight

Castillo won the fight and even the Mayweathers know it.

And for the hardcore Mayweather fans who follow everything Mayweather does in the ring, think about this; this was the only fight in Mayweathers history where he was out landed, out thrown and at a much higher % than in any other one of his fights. Castillo landed at 40% against Mayweather!

                    Humans.........

Good point. People just like to argue and have a hard time admitting FACTS. Leonard could've done the same thing to Duran in the first fight. He chose to show Duran that he couldn't KO him instead. Guess what? He was right. In the rematch, he showed that Duran wasn't on his level, as great as Duran was. This also happened in the first De La Hoya/Mosley fight. Oscar was pissed off about the decision against Tito and decided to go toe to toe against Mosley. In the rematch, he exposed Mosley for the power dummy he was.

Just because people were not used to seeing him in a competitive fight doesn't mean he lost, give me a break. Same thing happened with Cotto, Floyd beat him easy but because his nose was bleeding they say it was a tough fight. No damn controversy, Floyd won BOTH fights. And Garcia is a damn fool if he's planning on using some imaginary ''blueprint'' from 2002 when Floyd is 20X better and sharper.
THANK you, that's all it was. Castillo wasn't landing **** clean, and like you said, the fact that Floyd got in a couple competitive fights doesn't all of a sudden mean there's a blueprint out on him. On top of that, Castillo fought dirty as all hell in their fights.
