    Doesn't bother me at all..........

That's fine. Your opinion doesn't bother me at all. What I do know is that when a close fight could go either way, you don't back off in the 12th. He was tired and that's why he backed off. Manny won the fight in the 12th. Roidquez did it to himself, not me or not the judges.

I have re-watched this fight many, many times and Castillo won. He pushed Floyd back, landed the better fights and really used his size and strength to muscle him around.

Saying that, Floyd came back in the second fight, adjusted and won by boxing intelligently.

Now that says a lot about a fighter, and a tribute to Floyd's greatness. Leonard did it vs Duran, Marquez did it vs Pacquaio and there's many other examples.

Floyd knows he lost, but there's no shame in losing to a prime Castillo. I remember when the boxing world was calling him the next Chavez. The man was a beast in his prime.

This is not a good comparison. Floyd CLEARLY lost and was outthrown and outlanded. Manny clearly won the 3rd fight against Roidquez because he outthrew/outlanded him and showed better defense. Roidquez was only able to land one pop shot at a time. Manny won a close but clear decision. Roidquez sealed his fate when he ran in the 12th. What was he thinking?
I think you missed and proved my point. Both were very close fights and are subjective to whatever the post-fight viewers agenda is when giving an opinion. Compubox is not the way to score a fight. Punches thrown and landed aren't the only criteria.

            You're right....

You are right. Things like defense, ring generalship, outworking your opponent, all matter as well. At no point in the 3rd fight did Juan give me the impression that he was in control of the fight because you don't control Manny. He'll always give and get and normally it's the opponent who can't give as much. You have to BEAT the Champion. If you're the challenger, you have to do a little bit more. Juan is a counter puncher who needs time to think in he ring. While he's thinking of what perfect shot to land next, Manny is hitting him. The 3rd fight was sparring match, really. Manny wasn't there to KO Juan, he was there to simply out point him and that's what he did. This is how I know he can beat Floyd STILL. He can out point him. He's won 80% of the professional rounds he's fought for a reason.

You do know this is not a rule in any way, shape or form, its an opinion shared by broadcasters and media. The champ doesn't get extra points for being champ.

They were clean as a bar of soap and a lot harder than Mayweather's punches. Castillo was nailing Mayweather's body all night long. Mayweather is wrong to say he won the first six.

I scored the first fight a draw. I just feel that Castillo started off way too slowly. You can argue though that Castillo was robbed as Floyd didn't quite do enough to take the title from the champ.

The second fight was also close imo and definitely not as comfortable as some Floyd fans make it out to be. I scored that it 7 rounds to 5 in favour of Floyd.

You're right, Compubox numbers aren't gospel, but there is something telling when for the first time in his career, Mayweather was out landed and at a much higher % than in any of his other fights.
When most fighters struggle to land 20% on Mayweather, Castillo landed 40%, and 46% of his power shots.

On another note isn't it funny how many hardcore Mayweather fans use compubox numbers to praise Floyd as the most accurate fighter in history, yet dismiss it when the results don't support their conclusion.

If Mayweather comes in injured like he did for that fight then who knows maybe Chino can pull off the gameplan?

It was a close fight, and those who say Mayweather no doubt lost the first fight are being silly. It was a close bout and I think many get carried away here because no one had really heard of Castillo before and did better than expected.

we call that the Roy Jones syndrome, where you'd give a fighter a round just because he wasn't outclassed as bad as the previous round.
