I think he's improved quite a bit since then though in fairness.

He's definitely not a future great but I think he's a tough out for most.

Though I was very impressed by Chaves's performance explain how Thurman was exposed?

Porter does have flaws but no boxer's perfect.. the one thing with the leaping left hook is that his foot position & torso angle isn't great while he's leaping in and if he gets caught with a medium strength counterpunch he'll get knocked down. but its probably because he took risks with that punch against featherfist paulie..

Porter was landing short shots on the inside and using a little "rough house" tactics using his forearm and such. People need to understand that IS part of boxing, as an inside fighter you're supposed to do things that the ref can't see, that's what makes a great inside fighter.

Porter will be a star, I think he is the real deal but he is certainly still a bit green. His punches are much to wide and when he comes in lunging his hands are really far down and a counter hook will put him down possibly. That being said he is only 23 and only going to get better, I'm a little worried having his father train him (I usually think that's a bad idea) but we'll see if he cleans up his defense a bit and doesn't have him open up so much with power shots. Still he is a strong as an ox and has a really nice jab and he stuck with it to beat Paulie which set up his power shots, he's a very good fighter.
          Who's only 23?

incredibly crude is a bit much. he's got a little bit of everything, the only difference is, when he does what he does it doesn't necessarily look pretty, but he gets results.

He improved enough to beat Diaz fairly convincingly in the rematch.

I just think Alexander and Paulie were tailor made for him. In fairness, I think Brook is kinda made for him too although at least Brook can punch a bit.

If the Brook fight gets made Porter is going to smash him.

Porter's way of winning fights is brute force. Sort of like, "to hell with your boxing skills, I'm gonna whoop your ass." That's Angulo's plan when he fought Lara, as another example. Such plan requires perfect physical conditioning. It's not easy, but that's the only plan you should have when fighting technical fighters. Maidana should learn from it.

I thought Alexander would outbox him but I knew he'd brutalize Pauli. Can't believe people actually thought Pauli would win that.

Yeah that's true. I want to see how he takes a punch. I think if he shows a good chin then he'll be a tough out for a lot of the WW guys. He's done a lot of sparring with Pacquaio aswell, only sparring but it's a good experience none the less. I think he's sparred quite a few top guys.

I think Brooks in big trouble when they fight.
