Quoting stats doesn't add validity to the argument, since most stats have a converse.

A chess master (for example) dwarfs his competition because he has mastered all aspects of his craft.

The same criteria has to be applied to boxing when making statements that (x) is a Master boxer.
Mayweather has been incapable of knocking out opponents who he outclasses by miles. When looking at the totality of his craft, his lack of power and inability to finish opponents demonstrates a severe case of inefficiency.

A true "master" would and should be able to finish a fight far more quickly if given the same access and openings to an opponents targets that Mayweather creates and enjoys

I'm curious ... How ... And by what means ... Mayweather ... Became a part of this discussion?!?!?!?

Pacquiao is no "Master Boxer". Guys with a good jab and movement will *always* give him problems and he still gets hit with too many clean right hands.

Mayweather became part of this discussion because he is the closest thing we have to a true master. Also, anything to do with Pacquiao, you should know that Mayweather will become an inevitable part of the discussion and vice versa.

That being said, despite their effective skills, there are still plenty of things both Floyd and Manny the top 2 guys of recent times, lack in their respective repertoires that prevent them both from becoming true and "total" masters of their craft. They come pretty close though.

Key word is evolution. Not just 1 day homey. He has been in pro boxing for 19 yrs.

            This sport is called boxing.

            Pac is a boxer.

He has been in the p4p standing for years.

He has vast experience of his craft. A vet of the game of boxing.

4lineal champ. 8 division champ. If that ain't enough to be called a master boxer. I don't know what is.

Yes he is a master fighter/boxer, which he is both good at both fighting and boxing ( he mixes it up), but now he prefers to be more of a master boxer/fighter now that he is in the twilight of his career.

He is not a pure boxer. But he is a boxer/fighter. Which is a hybrid. And which makes him unique and talented. Still a master of the art of boxing. This is boxing right?

He is after all the best boxer in the world a few times and now still top 3 p4p. I call that a master and an Atg.

Sorry no. Maybe you need to watch more "master boxers." Defending Bradley's frat boy haymakers does not make one a master boxer. Pac fought well but pump your brakes.

Yup how can he not be a master boxer when he can easily win almost all the rounds to most of his opponents he had fought. He sweeps it all, and gets almost all the rounds for him. That is superb skill. To show you can give a lopsided scoring of rounds.

                Now that's a master boxer.

Yes has been a great boxer for years now. He was evolving fight after fight. honing his skills. Some can't even see that Manny can box very well when he wants to, but being Manny of before if he smells he can take over the fight with hiis physical gift. He will turn into a slugger and demolish them.

That said. Pac has been a boxer for 19 yrs. that's equivalent to having taken a master degree almost 4 times if it was college we are talking about.

The guy has reach the top of boxing echelons for years now. They can't even see that to reach the top a boxer needs to be good at BOXING. Wake up people.
