MAYWEATHER SAYS CHOICE OF COTTO WAS BECAUSE "MISS PAC MAN IS DUCKING ME"; DISPUTES TALKS OF BACK END

Speaking to several journalists in attendace at the hearing, Mayweather explained that reports from Pacquiao and his team regarding his $40 million offer aren't exactly true, noting that there were never really any discussions about profits from the backend. Mayweather is of the opinion that it's Pacquiao himself who isn't really interested in the fight, despite numerous comments saying the contrary. "I presented Pacquiao with the fight, and all I got to say is, Pacquiao's blowing a bunch of smoke up everyone's ass," he explained. "He don't really want to fight. I gave him a chance to step up to the plate. We're talking about a $10 million fighter who I tried to give $40 million to. We didn't even talk about the back end."

    • Yeah, taking $40 flat while Floyd makes $100+ over all is very smart.

Here's where Mayweather talks about what he offered Pacquiao. He does mention discussing the ppv. From what I've seen when this topic is brought up people always say that Mayweather have him a flat rate.
There's actually a 1 on 1 interview he has with Bob Costas where he says he was not willing to give Pacquiao or anyone else for that matter any of the ppv revenue.

          • So Mayweather wanted him to agree to a deal without discussing the back-end?

            Yeah seems legit

So should Manny have gotten less than Oscar? Should Floyd have gotten less?????
Manny needs to realize his actual worth....$40,000,000 is more than what he has made in his past fights and Pac wasn't even trying to negotiate about ppv splits or anything else! $40,000,000 was a guaranteed amount-not the only amount!

It was a guaranteed amount...they could have talked about and negotiated the back end....yet Manny was not interested.

                    • The problem with this fight never being made has everything to do with what they were currently making. They could be offered 50 million each, but why lay it all on the line when they were making 30-40 million fighting softer touches?

The problem is both guys are spoiled rotten. They were paid too much for fighting guys levels below them. Why would they want to take a truly risky fight for a few clams more?
