I agree with you two. Mikey and Robert are making helluva move here.I think the entire Robert Garcia camp is fed up with Arum, Arum is stopping fights from happening that the fighters i.e. Mikey and Rios wants. I remember seeing a ellie video where rios and robert garcia was talking **** about arum saying they dont know why he doing that/saying that it aint his fucking job and rios went on to say thats why I have cameron for, why the fuck am I paying him for then.Comment

Its double moot also because TR is a Nevada company, and only 6 or 7 of Garcia's 30-something fights have taken place in California.
If the vast majority of his fights took place in California he might could get the commission to try and impose jurisdiction, but 7 out of 35 or whatever isnt going to get it done lolComment

The failed Gamboa negotiations might have ignited this suit...
I read a rumor about Garcia wanting $1.3M for the Gamboa fight, but HBO, supposedly, wouldn't budge from $1M.
HBO allots a certain amount of its budget to a promoter for the services of their fighter(s) and adjust the amount depending on the match-up. The promoter doesn't necessarily disclose the allotted amount it received from HBO. They'll disclose a figure "HBO" is offering (which is actually what the promoter is willing to cede to the fighter) to negotiate from there.
If HBO allotted $3M to a promoter for a fight, the promoter can say that HBO is offering $2M for the fight for the fighters to split and keep $1M (from the $3M) + attendance and sponsorship revenue.
An outfit as conniving and smart as Top Rank, would easily develop a model to maximize revenue under the format. Garcia and his team might've heard the actual amount HBO offered instead of the Top Rank said "HBO offered" amount and not liked what he heard.
Either way, it'll be tough to prove... HBO isn't just going to give up evidence to convict its main content supplier and Top Rank won't just leave a criminal paper trail. It's easy to blame a fighter and his camp when you don't understand the boxing business. Good luck to Mikey...Comment
