Roach is the type of trainer if he thinks he sees a fighter slipping he wants to capitalize on it. He did it with Marquez the 3rd time when they thought he didn't belong at 147 and look what happened. Also they're doing it with Sergio. Martinez is going to smash Cotto into bits. Roach reacts when he sees dents in armor but he has been wrong alot. No way Cotto beats Mayweather.
I'm not implying Cotto would win. What I'm saying is that he had the most success against May of any fighter he had fought, punishment wise. I think Oscar fought a better fight than Cotto as well.

No matter who Floyd has in the corner, he's going to fight like he wants to.

Given the fact most people think Miguel gave floyd his hardest fight, the chance for the MW lineal title, and the fact the first fight sold 1.5 mil ppv's, you can bet everything you have that Floyd and Cotto 2 will happen if cotto beats sergio.

The only way it doesn't-Cotto gets something like $15 mil from HBO to fight GGG or SHo to fight Canelo.

Not sure if it will come down to money. I think that Miguel REALLY wants the Floyd rematch. I think that he truly believes that he has a chance at victory.

Fair point. I just think Miguel decided to be a promotional "free agent" because it will drive up what he is offered from the networks. WHile I agree he doesn't seemed motivated by money, his actions in the Sergio negotiations show he is much more cognizant about the business aspect of boxing.

Besides-you know HBO would do just about anything to prevent Floyd from gettng a crack at the lineal MW title before GGG.

I see Sergio winning anyway FWIW.

I never thought about that. good point.

Hbo wants sergio to win, so they can set up sergio vs ggg.

Like Da Boxer said the only people who aren't into this fight are fl*mo's and Cotto haters. We'll never get Mayweather/Manny and the only guy who can even give Floyd a fight is Cotto. People seem to forget that the fl*mo's were saying that Floyd was "choosing to fight that way" or "Floyd just got old." The next two fights Floyd looks the same as he has always done, it wasn't that Floyd was old or fighting for the fans he was in against a QUALITY fighter for once in his career and he got tested.

I'm a huge Cotto fan and I favored Floyd in the first fight but I also said Cotto would give Floyd the hardest fight in his career and Floyd admitted that on camera. Could Cotto beat Floyd, yes absolutely, I still am doubtful it happens but given the options Floyd chooses like Khan, Maidana and any other crap fight, this is hands down the best option and one of the few I would pay for. Also I love how people just say Floyd will win a rematch because he makes adjustments... Yea, so does Cotto they are both very smart fighters. I saw someone say Floyd now has his dad in his corner... So Floyd gets better with a new trainer but Cotto can't? Fl*mo's are just scared Floyd will have a bloodied up face and look vulnerable again and they can't handle seeing that.

Floyd now with his father, fully fit and not about to go to prison would UD Cotto easier than the first time.

That said, I would rather this rematch than Floyd facing anyone at 147 except Pacquiao.

                      Thanks fellas.

Imagine if Herschman in addition to the STevenson v. Kovalev **** up then watched SHowtime put on Cotto floyd 2 for the lineal MW title in the same year.

That is not a formula for staying employed. Least not at my job. HBO may work differently. lol!!
