At that time, he wasn't well known at all while Khan was a guy being heavily hyped by HBO so there stood a chance that a decision could have gone Khan's way even if Bradley appeared to get the better of him. Just like many, including myself, thought Pac won the first fight with Bradley yet he didn't get the nod. Tim made a business decision and took a gamble....same can be said for Khan only his gamble didn't pay off.
Oh so you think neither ducked? Or are you just saying that because you don't want to admit Bradley ducked Khan?

Really in reality, both ducked those fights.

And you don't have to be afraid of someone to duck them.

    • I wonder why Bradley didn't say "what if I legitimately lose?"

It's silly at this to think fighters make decisions out of fear. Security, maybe. It should be obvious that at that level almost all decisions are financially motivated, whether it's Bradley with Khan or Khan with Alexander.

He only said "What if I lose?" and "Can a brother have a break?"

He mentioned being pissed at Gary Shaw and how he had promoted the Devon Alexander fight. He's even on record as saying that if he fought Khan under Shaw no one would give a crap.

He isn't flat out saying that he might get robbed but he is implying that he's with an inferior promoter with no pull. So he moved on to a better promoter and to the possibility of bigger payday, I truly can't find fault with that.

Clearly in Khan's case he made an exception.

            You can't be serious?

Bradley didn't duck Khan, but Khan did duck Alexander?

Khan does well vs non-punchers and given he has already faced Maidana why would he be "afraid" of Alexander? The difference between Khan and Bradley is that it worked out for one. Both are ducks and not cuz either guy was horrified of their potential opponents, but those fights could have derailed their big fight plans.

Bradley's duck was more shameless than Khan's cuz there was an unofficial tournament where the winners of Khan-Maidana and Bradley-Alexander would fight to crown a Lineal champion and it was a fight demanded by the public/media. On top of that Bradley mocked Khan on ESNEWS as if Khan was ducking him.

As for Khan, it is not unusual for fighters to pull out/avoid of small time fights if they can oversee a big payday. Rosado gave up his IBF 154 vs K9 to get GGG.

I like Timmy and im pulling for him this Saturday, but he did duck Khan.

He could have left Gary Shaw as the undisputed Junior Welterweight champion of the world and been one of the hottest free agents in the sport.

He said "what if I lose". There's no need for further clarification on what that means. It means what it means.

If someone was worried about getting robbed, they'd say that.

                Keep arguing semantics though.

The fight would've occurred after his contract was over.

Call me crazy but I've seen enough boxing to know that there are many ways a man can lose. Semantics or inferences, choose what you will.

Yep and if one of those ways was a robbery, then the man would state that.

Men usually say exactly what they mean.
