Who is Joe Calzaghe that a light-heavyweight Champion has to call him out, in order for him to accept a fight? What's wrong with that picture?

This has been the problem with Average Joe his entire career. That video you posted shows a passive aggressive WBO Paper Champ talking about a potential fight against the P4P Best, only because the Best happened to mention that he might come down a weight class.

So if Roy hadn't mentioned coming down to 168, WBO Joe was content with defending his belt indefinitely?

It was just as easy to say it before the fight.

        He wasn't a Unified Champion.

He won the Vacant IBF Title off Syd Vanderpool.

He held the IBO belt but obviously that's not an actual legitimate belt.

This is a guy who the only decent fighter he fought was Omar Sheika and he looked distinctly average and struggled.

Yeah, as one of the biggest hype job's of all time he got a whole load of morons who said he'd win. That means what? That's what happens when you're a hype job.

Lacy is terrible. Always has been, always will be.

Like I said he is literally THE epitome of what a hype job is.

Joe Calzaghe accepted a fight with Bernard Hopkins in 2002. Hopkins was the one who walked away from the fight.

No amount of your feminine waffle and psychoanalysis of Joe's demeanour in interviews can change what actually happened when the real negotiations for their fight took place.

Of course people thought Lacy would win, he was the favourite, and I do give Joe credit because it was a fight that had to happen due to the (Unwarranted) hype that Lacy had at that time. So he deserves credit for the win.

It's also one of only 3 fighters that were in the Top 5 of the divison when Calzaghe fought them.

So I give him credit for the Lacy win.

But let's not act like Lacy's not a hype job because he is and that is completely unquestionable. This is a guy, who doesn't have a single good win over a ranked fighter in his entire career. The absolute best person he beat is Omar Sheika, a fight in which he struggled and looked horrible.

Lacy is just simply terrible. Terrible.

The unwarrented and ridiculous hype that he got shouldn't stray away from these facts and doesn't magically turn Lacy into a fighter as good as his hype suggested.

As for myself I had absolutely no doubts that Calzaghe would not lose a second of any round to Lacy.
