Do Cazaghe fans seriously believe Hopkins ducked him yet chose to fight him at 43 years of age? Hopkins has boxed everyone - his CV s**ts on Calzaghe's.
Calzaghe is slightly better than Ottke. But not by much. I think Reid did enough to get a draw against him, and Hopkins just made him look like a total amateur.
He didn't beat a prime HOFer in his entire career.Comment

There's nothing to "believe", it's what happened. He fought him at 43 because he ran out of welterweights to fight and he had nowhere else to go.
That was the first time Hopkins publicly called out Calzaghe - and the fight got made. Jones called out Calzaghe in the post fight - and the fight got made. Those two were only interested when they got old and needed the payday.Comment

All this "B-hop wanted more money" is gobbledygook.
When Roy Jones and Hopkins negotiated to fight each other, someone wanting more money is a story. They're on an even playing field and Hopkins probably should've taken the 60/40 considering that no matter how much he redeemed himself by unifying the 160 division, RJJ still had a win over him and was a Undisputed Light-heavyweight Champ himself. 60/40 was fair and Hopkins was to blame for the fight not happening.
As far as Hopkins Vs Joe, Hopkins vs RJJ - It's all on Joe and his lack of urgency. The fact that I don't remember him aggressively calling out Hopkins or Jones during his post-fight interviews on showtime (and I've seen plenty of Joe fights against B-level WBO appointed Mandatories) tells you everything. He was being as passive aggressive towards Hopkins/Jones as Pacquiao is towards Mayweather, even though he wasn't nearly of the status that Manny was prior to the two losses.Last edited by cupocity303; 04-08-2014, 08:01 PM.Comment

There was a time when Bhop was playing serious hardball with the networks, there's a reason why he came out to that Sinatra song. It's probably a lot more complicated than you're making it sound. I vaguely remember showtime carrying a fight of Joe's when he was prime and there was discussions of that fight. It seemed there was an attempt to build up a big fight involving calzagheComment
