The Sheika fight was definitely Lacy's worst performance to date but he still won. And that is all that matters. He traded punch for punch with Sheika and his chin held up. Sheika's...not so much. A good solid win for Lacy, who was making the first defense of his title against very good opposition. Trust me, the Lacy that fought Williams, Reid, and Pemberton in 2005 is not the same as the guy who fought Vanderpool and Sheika.
Well, is it any coincidence that Lacy's worst performance to date came against the best fighter he's faced to date? And it came in a fight where he got rocked early on, taking some of that explosiveness out of him, I think. Reid and Pemberton were clearly past it...I wouldn't look at those fights too hard.
I think this is going to be a much tougher task for Lacy than most here do.
One question, if anyone knows... Do either or both fighters have rematch clauses?

I highly doubt that there will be a rematch, Calzaghe has stated many times that after this fight he plans to move up to light heavy.
Is that why he has never fought outside of England?.
Jones was generally regarded as the number 1 P4P fighter on earth...and Calzaghe refused to come to the states to fight him.
What was Jones supposed to do? go to England? hahahahhahaha.
C'mon man, this argument is bull****, and for some reason American fans appeal to it all the time. Is it okay for American fighters to fight only in America? If you're going to criticize Calzaghe for not fighting here, you'd have to go after a lot of American guys who don't want to fight on the Continent.

Are you being serious?
The United States of America is the mecca of boxing. There are better fighters who reside here.
Don't tell me Europe produces better fighters than US and Mexico.

Well, you call me a dumbass and then ask a question that has already been answered in this thread. Ironic.
Try reading occasionally instead of thinking you know everything. You're a simple bandwagoner.
Here's what I said earlier in the thread:
"Just injecting a little bit of perspective since most feel this will be a Lacy domination. It might very well be, but I do like playing Devil's Advocate sometimes. :-) I favor Lacy as well, but I'm not sleeping on Joe like most of you are..."
