Paulie: Pac not a good or smart fighter...

I've never really understood why Paulie has such a grudge against Manny. As far as a fight between them goes, it would have to be all over for Manny before that could happen. He'd have to lose to someone like Alvarado never mind Tim Bradley.Comment

lol @ Paulie giving Pac fits. Paulie got stopped by Khan.
Pac/Paulie would be stopped in the 4th due to an "accumulation of blows". Would love to see Paulie stick his tongue out and catch an 8 punch combo.Comment

they probably twisted his words, no way paulie would say he isnt a good fighter. he probably said pac is not as good as people think perhaps or something similar, that wouldnt be a surprise considering paulie has never liked pacquiao.
paulie really cares about boxing so he has always been a strong supporter of implementing th ebest possible drug testing at the highest level. ever since pacquiao let everyone down by taking the stance he did on the issue paulie has disliked him.
the smart thing is true, he has average fighting intelligence at best.Comment

Disagree. He's a very smart fighter, he's just not smarter than JMM.
You don't get to that elite level purely on physical gifts. Look at the way he treated Rios, totally outclassed him without taking a noteworthy punch back. Same with Bradley in their first fight. He was the better offensive AND defensive fighter against Bradley. And I don't get how drained Oscar was, Pac fought a brilliantly cerebral fight, he basically thought his way through that fight (being that he was so wary of Oscar's power).
Roach even says he and Pac come up with the game plans together. Look at his improvements as a fighter.
Just because he has certain technical flaws - average jab, lunging in with his punches, balance issues - doesn't mean he doesn't have very ring IQ. He became smarter as he became older.
Paulie, as usual, talking **** about Pac. Dude got outboxed by Ricky Hatton for God's sake.Comment

I don't see how he's a "very smart" fighter. Pacquaio approachs most of his fights the same way.Disagree. He's a very smart fighter, he's just not smarter than JMM.

I don't see how doing what he did against Rios or Oscar show anything. And I wasn't too impressed with him against Bradley either although I thought he won relatively easily.
I didn't say he's got to where he has on physical gifts alone. He hasn't. But he sure as hell hasn't got to where he has due to his ring smarts.Comment

Exactly. Can't see Paulie saying he wasn't a good fighter though. Thinking has always been Manny's main flaw.Manny is not a thinking fighter at all, in fact making him actually think slows him down. Manny is an instinct guy, he is at his best when he can just rely on those fighting instincts as opposed to solving a guy (every time he has to solve someone his performance dips).
He is still an excellent fighter though, I don't think that can be denied.Comment

For real. I respect the dude's heart in fights but the fundamental lack of punching power, which isn't even compensated with a high display of skill, is pure tedium to my eyes. I am totally sick of watching the dude fight and have for years. I didn't even enjoy watching him cause Broner problems, and I HATE Broner. You couldn't pay me to watch the Judah fight.Malignaggi is the biggest con artist in the history of boxing. He's made considerably more money than someone of his talent (or lack of) should actually make, and he still continues to get opportunities and the sort of exposure that greater, more exciting talents out there would only dream of.
@ those 'efforts' against Hatton and Khan.
Unfortunately, he will dine off the Broner fight for a while and be regarded as a decent opponent for some of the blue-chip GBP Welterweights.
God help us.Comment
