Heck, you don't beat past prime hall of famers like De La Hoya or Mosley or borderline hall of famer in Cotto by being not good or smart either.

To reach this level, you have to have world class ring instincts/intelligence. Or you'd get embarassed.

He hasn't fought differently against Cotto, nor Oscar. Nor did he fight differently against Bradley. He's fought the same way every fight. His speed, power, and southpaw stance is what gets him over in my opinion.

There is one fight though where he FINALLY tried to fight differently though, and that was with his last fight against Marquez. And it wasn't that he fought differently, it's just that he displayed a defense that he never had before with his head movement (I'm willing to bet Roach brought someone in to teach Pacquaio that, because it's a style that Roach doesn't teach). Too bad though that he still ended up getting KO'd.

And that's just it, he fights the same way, which is why Marquez was able to do that in the first place.

Are u ******ed? Seriously?? Go look at pac's earlier fights and u'll see the same head movements u're talking about. Even in the 4th fight with Marquez Roy mention that PAC is showing a lot of good head movements like in his earlier fights that's how he was able to drop Marquez 3 times in their 2nd fight. Even in the Oscar fight he was moving his head and bobbing from side to side. I'm still tripping out at what u said that PAC fought a completely new style in the Marquez 4 match lmao!!!

So speed is what gets him by? Hmm manny is not the only one with fast hands. Some on here would argue that khan is quicker so how come khan is nowhere near where manny is at??

you think all those fighters you named and he beat/KO'd were a lot smarter fighters than him? each fighter has his own style. can floyd do what pac did to cotto? you think he'd embarass clottey more? lol at you.

They came up with a solution to mitigate what Manny does and he didn't do anything to change it really even to this day.

Manny won because he was just better not because he was smarter, and while the solution they came up did mitigate Manny they couldn't do that and win because of how good Manny was. So even if they were smarter it meant little because they couldn't apply it fully, I would say most were by varying degrees smarter than Manny but some were on par like Clottey.

The only one of those dudes he knocked out was Cotto and we both know he could have saw the final bell even though he had no hope of winning.

Marquez yes, Bradley not really, no more so than Pacquaio any way.

and what makes you say that? marquez has one style, he looks very average against anyone that isn't standing right infront of him

marquez's personality lends him to a "boxing" style, through his entire career, day in and day out he practices making a guy just miss, and then he counter's, his skillset entirely lies there

marquez for a guy who isn't even as aggressive as pacquiao has worse defense than pacquiao, pacquiao can fight just as well as marquez on the backfoot(if not better) and obviously fights better against movers

pacquiao has the temperment of a brawler, earlier in his career he was a plodding puncher, then a reckless aggressor who loved to combo to the body and often fell into the inside, then a two handed fighter(which alot of southpaws are not), a side-stepping master who fights at mid-range, pacquiao likes to destroy, marquez likes to box, he throws to kill, marquez feeds off that, there are negatives and positives to throwing such punches, if you land, you're gonna deal a hell of alot of damage, if you miss, you will be open, no matter who you are

so, why is marquez smarter? he has a style perfect to deal with pacquiao, speed isn't much if you keep a guy at long range, a guy you have more reach than

marquez has his advantages in their fights, and like people here are saying, pacquiao just has a style to beat people, despite being dumb, what about marquez, i think he just has a style where he should be beating pacquiao

lol... some people have no idea what a world class boxer must do...lol.. PAC has won over 90% of his fights and has faced world class competition for the past 10-12+ years.

It takes smarts to exploit opponent's weaknesses, to time them, and pick your spots. He's done it consistently his whole career.

But Pac is smart, just a little too confident at times, went for the kill too early against JMM and too eager. Reckless maybe, but Pac does know how to not let that happen, but chose not to.
