Kovalev IS fighting someone else because Stevenson wanted to fight a bum first.

They already did the set-up fights. They both just fought on the same damn card, both scored knockouts. HBO wanted it, Kovalev wanted it. Stevenson wanted a bum.

They would have maxed their earnings fighting each other rather than Fonfara or Agnew, but i guess stevenson didnt wanna max out his earnings and declined Kovalev. Whyd he do that if it was clearly the more lucrative fight?

This was the problem HBO is at blame they should of never put Kovalev on the same card allowing Stevenson to see first hand what Krusher does to men, that was the real reason why he looked subpar against Bellew he was still shook.

So as it turns out, it wasn't Showtime offering Adonis more money. It was Haymon requesting 40% more than what HBO agreed upon for a Kovalev-Stevenson fight, yet he still wouldn't guarantee he would accept a Stevenson-Kovalev fight even if HBO agreed to the %40 increase in pay. Stevenson allowed this despite his own manager telling him the money from Kovalev was as good as it was going to get.

In result, HBO wouldn't do business because Haymon only wanted to negotiate a Fonfara-Stevenson fight.

This is why Stevenson left and why HBO wouldn't go up in their offer. NOT because Showtime out bid them lol

So when it's all said and done, we really don't know how much Stevenson will make from Hopkins or even if it will be more than the Kovalev fight.

With someone new being accused of ducking everyday I tend to ignore these threads, but in this situation it's clear as day Stevenson wants no part of Kovalev. Haymon asked for 40% more from HBO yet they still weren't accepting the offer if it was matched come on now
