I really don't think Hopkins is that big of an accomplishment on Stevenson's resume at this point. People will just say Hop was old anyway. Jermaine Taylor beat a prime Hopkins twice and still isn't a locked HOF'er. Neither is Chad Dawson. Calzaghe's win over Hopkins didn't do great things for him either; people still talked about that win as being tainted because of Hopkins age.

Stevenson needs to start his own legacy and defeat some of the best the division has to offer; including these young lions.

Hopkins WAS NOT in his prime it was his last fight at middleweight. Yeah he had a lot left in the tank But 2 divisions higher. Plus he should have won

Your right,and in a perfect world HBO and Showtime would be working together to make all these fights a reality..Yet this is not the way it works..So Stevenson had a choice to make..I don't think either would have been a bad one..

Simple fact is Adonis probably ain't gonna get much more - HBO coulda matched the Fonfara fight if they thought Stevenson vs Kovalev was gonna happen, but if it isn;t (as Stevnsons refusal to sign seems to indicate) why the hell would they want to sink even more money into the guy than they already have?

As for Adonis vs BHops we have no figures but if we look at some of 'Nards better known recent (and I use the term loosely) opponents - Sad Chad got something like 800K, titlist Cloud about 650K. I'm not sure about the Pascal purse which might be a useful guide for a Canadian fight, but I'm guessing not over a $mil.

Against Kovalev, Stevenson would be the A side and would get the bigger cut of what would likely be a slightly smaller purse - against BHop he'll be the B side ('Nard should have 2 belts by then as well as the Legend) and take the smaller cut of what'll probably be the bigger purse.

Obviously this is pure guesswork, but over the two fights I'd imagine Stevensons gonna make a similar amount with Fonfara then BHop as he would with Fonfara then Kovalev.
