Let the GG slurping begin. This will justify GG fighting another cab driver.

I'm from Argentina and he said a few days ago that he would like to renew his contract with HBO because now he's healthy.

He's a 39 year old middleweight. It's really time to hang it up after Cotto. Why on earth would he want to stick around and take damage if he doesn't have to?Comment

He has already fought the consensus #1 and #2 (Pavlik and Williams) at MW once, he has nothing to prove to anyone. He doesn't owe GGG or anyone a fight.
If he keeps fighting after beating Cotto and doesn't face his best challengers (including GGG), that will be a problem. But if he wants to retire, good for him.Comment

Beating Cotto is a good way to go out. He will probably use the fight as an indiction of how his body holds up. If he has declined greatly, walking away is the right choice.
Shows why Golovkin wastes his time staying at middleweight, there are no big fights for him there. Might as well go to 168 for chavez jr.Comment

This, of course, is why the Cotto fight is interesting despite a past prime career WW moving up to MW.Comment

Well if Sergio retires then good luck to a man that gave us some great fights BUT if he is not going to fight Golovkin he needs to keep his mouth shut about knowing he can beat him, he is not on his level, etc. Just a few months ago he was talking lots of smack. Admit GGG is the mw king and ride off into the sunset.Comment
