Martinez would need GGG to earn a lot of money as he has already passed him in popularity

Let's be honest, how many fights does Sergio realistically have left?
If the GGG fight doesn't happen by the end of the year, I can't see it happening at all tbh.

Ducking a guy who's been fight guys way smaller than him and fighting C and D level competition. While Martinez fought way bigger guys and fighting A and B level fighters. I don't think so this guy has done nothing spectacular in the sport of boxing just KOing bums. ...

Probably. It will either happen after the Cotto fight or not at all. Martinez beating Cotto and Golovkin beating Chavez jr would be a good build up.

Ya right are you forgetting he is fighting Cotto other than a Mayweather fight this is the most lucrative pay day he can get and you think he can make more money. I don't think so Triple G is still making a name for himself not as lucrative.

I agree with this, which is why it should be both of their next fights assuming they take care of Cotto and JCCJR

So you disagree with GGG being the #1 contender by all publications and experts analysis'?

Oh and isn't Sergio fighting a welterweight in his next fight?

I didn't say cancel the Cotto fight and face GGG now did I?

Aside from that, GGG is the best option considering Pac and Floyd will never be fighting him and JccJr is now a LHW.

It's Maravillas perogative to retire at the right time, in fact he owes it to himself not fight on long past his best, and by all accounts has other business interests so shouldn't need the income from boxing.

If...if he decides to continue boxing, then GGG would be one of the fights I would like to see him take, though only if he shows some of the old brilliance against Cotto. The last thing I'd want to see would be a faded and sub-par Maravilla destroyed on the ropes by Golovkin.

Either way Martinez has given us years of great fights and I wish him luck whatever he decides to do - just a shame he didn't hit the peak of his career til so late.

Martinez can't fight Golovkin at this stage and he knows it...
