I rate Calzaghe very highly. He was nightmare to deal with in the ring. Awkward Southpaw with amazing stamina and threw thousands of punches with speed. His ring generalship was also top notch.

Would have been sick to watch Ward-Calzaghe back then. Joe out of all the SMW today and back then would have been a serious threat to ward.

The reality is that Andre Ward kicked Kessler's ass for every minute of every round starting well before any headbutts it was obvious Kessler was out of his class from the opening bell.

He's done nothing except try to take credit away from Andre Ward since Day One because Ward steamrolled his career and embarrassed him in what was supposed to be Kessler's Big American cable showcase fight that propelled him to worldwide recognition. He was the overwhelming favorite to not only beat Ward - but to win the entire tournament. Instead he got beat down and quit the tourney then went back to Europe for easy fights.

Kessler vs Khan in the battle of excuse making would be a real back and forth affair.

Speaking of which.... if you asked Khan he would probably tell you that Zab Judah was a tougher opponent than Danny Garcia or Lamont Peterson.

Kessler was outclassed in every aspect of the fights. The headbutts didnt change anything to the fact that Ward dominated him.

I don't know who's greater but Kessler and 'Calzaghe are friends and Kessler doesn't like Ward whatsoever so I'm not surprised he feels this way. It would be interesting to also hear Bika's opninion.
