It took Calzaghe 10 years to unify and become lineal champ.

Andre Ward did it within 3 years after winning his first belt.

Longevity is a brilliant career achievement when you've constantly fought top opposition, like Hopkins for such a long period. Staying at home beating bums does not count as longevity. It's a shame because Calzaghe could have moved up to LHW and mixed it with the likes of Hopkins, Tarver, Johnson, Jones Jr much earlier.

He wasn't interested.

Had Calzaghe moved up earlier, he'd have missed out on his career defining fights ie Lacy and Kessler.
