There's no one other than Lara that Canelo can fight next without it being a duck. He got his gimme fight after a loss. Suffered zero damage in that fight, and has no injuries. He has no mandatory obligations. Miguel Cotto is fighting Matinez. Molina is in jail. There's no one at 147 he can bring up without it being a laughable fight. (except maybe Keith Thurman) Can't use the excuse that Lara needs to be built up because Lara is not a new fighter in the division. He's already been built as much as reasonably possible, and is the most accomplished fighter in the division. With 7 seven premium cable appearances, there's no one in the division more known than Lara who is available.

Theres just noone else and the fight makes too much sense not to happen right now. People bring up "lolz Angulo put Lara through hell" but Canelo-Trout was a closer fight than those pathetic judges saw and Lara had no issue with him. They both beat the fighter that gave the other one trouble.. that can be apart of the buildup.. something has to give and Canelo would have a chance at another title.. do you believe they are discussions about Canelo fighting that..Rabachenko(Whatever his name is) guy? are people going to start saying hes more known than Lara... theres no where else to go for Canelo unless they throw a boatload of money at Danny Garcia to move up ala Josesito Lopez.
