Everything wrong with boxing

You can't pick and choose when you want to advocate the business side of boxing and when you don't.
No matter how you cut it, as a fan, I can't relate to "boxing is a business" when it comes to matchmaking or when it comes to letting the money maker win (i.e. Chavez Jr-Vera I; Garcia-Herrera, etc).
As a fan, I want to see the best available fighters fight the best competition and I want to see the right guy win come fight night.
Keep that boxing is a business schit to yourself. If I was a manager or promoter, maybe... But as a fan, no.Comment

You guys need to chill, it wasn't a robbery. Garcia and Harrera had a close fight, there was a point or 2 in it. It could have gone either, did Garcia get the decision cos he was the champ? Most probably, did he deserve the win? Yes, just as much as Harrera. Was a draw the best result for the situation? Yes, possibly.Comment

he advocates boxing as a business when it comes to match making. I know that much.

Well, maybe if you didn't bud in, you wouldn't be so confused right now.
Cuah knows what I'm talking about when it comes to the business of boxing. We've had this convo before.
To put it simply, the Garcia robbery was the business side of boxing. Cuah has advocated the business side of boxing before. My thing is, you can't pick and choose when the business of boxing is good and when it's bad. It's the main reason there are so many problems in boxing now.Last edited by BoxingGenius27; 03-17-2014, 12:51 PM.Comment

I just got done saying I don't like the business side of boxing, then you turn around and make a statement where all of a sudden I've become the advocater to the business of boxing.Comment

I'm going to tell you how, but it's probably several years into the future. Technology will dramatically improve the sport. They'll develop a way of accurately gauging connected shots and even their relative force. None of this Compubox or Olympic-style scoring garbage. Judges might be eliminated altogether; or their role will be greatly diminished, perhaps to weigh-in solely on lesser regarded scoring criteria like ring generalship and defensive performance.Comment

He advocates fights that make good money be made, and then you said you can't pick and choose which side of business you advocate and it's all or nothingComment
