It's funny how hatton has 40 fights and yet his father thinks he isn't ready. Tisk Tisk..

Looks like his papi has no faith in his son.

Hatton is the modern day Duran -- I classify his style as puncher boxer. He has world class footwork, technical ability, power, etc. You won't find one area in Hatton's game that needs much improvement except for his uncanny ability to often cut.

Ever since hiring his nutrionist he has been able to cut weight much, much easier and the results are showing. He's using his smothering style, but he has developed a knockout punch which has shown with his domination of Tszyu, and his one punch knockout of Maussa (who has wins over Harris, Resto, AND over 300 amateur wins).

Mayweather is all flair, no substance. Only the teenagers like that spoiled fckin brat, the adults absolutely despise him. HIS ego is getting in the way of all the big fights, not Hatton's. Watch some early fights of Hatton and you will see a fighter who fights on his toes, feints to get inside and throws a little jab to 'reset'. He was like a robot back then programmed to destroy his opponents. He's that good fellas, trust me.

By the way, Roy Jones Jr. said on broadcast after the Mitchell - Mayweather bout "Mayweather want's to take advantage of the old guys, not Hatton or Cotto". Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it !!

Why you posted the same thing twice?? Is this suppose to ammuse me?

I agree, his father is afraid for Hatton to fight a "real contender".

I admit that the Mayweather's did offer to fight Hatton after the Vince Phillips and Ben Tackie fights (for an eliminator to fight Kostya Tszyu). They were willing to go to the MEN for the biggest payday of Floyd's life, but Ray Hatton turned the fight down because for whatever reason he didn't think Ricky was quite ready for Floyd. Frank Warren wanted the fight, Ricky wanted the fight and Billy Graham REALLY wanted the fight (he believed Ricky was far more skilled than Castillo, and that Castillo clearly beat Mayweather).

Now, the reason Ray says that Ricky isn't ready for Floyd in America right now is because he's being sensible and wants Ricky to have more experience of training and fighting in America first. Be patient Ricky has never main-evented in America, never trained in America. Let him beat Baldomir and/or Freitas, then bring on Mayweather with no excuses.

What do you mean a "real contender"? IMO, Floyd is the most skilled fighter in the history of the sport - more than just a contender. He's the man. Let Hatton have some American experience first, then we have the super-fight at the end of this year or first half of 2007.

I believe you to be wrong Juicy. It's all about money here. Hatton's trying to win all the belts so he can manipulate Mayweather into a deal whereas he recieves the lions share.

Hatton will fight Baldomir to obtain a belt, yet compromise respect of the boxing community. I hope he fights the top of the top, and not have many "warm up fights" as a experienced boxer in his prime.
