Hatton is the modern day Duran -- I classify his style as puncher boxer. He has world class footwork, technical ability, power, etc. You won't find one area in Hatton's game that needs much improvement except for his uncanny ability to often cut.

Ever since hiring his nutrionist he has been able to cut weight much, much easier and the results are showing. He's using his smothering style, but he has developed a knockout punch which has shown with his domination of Tszyu, and his one punch knockout of Maussa (who has wins over Harris, Resto, AND over 300 amateur wins).

Mayweather is all flair, no substance. Only the teenagers like that spoiled fckin brat, the adults absolutely despise him. HIS ego is getting in the way of all the big fights, not Hatton's. Watch some early fights of Hatton and you will see a fighter who fights on his toes, feints to get inside and throws a little jab to 'reset'. He was like a robot back then programmed to destroy his opponents. He's that good fellas, trust me.

By the way, Roy Jones Jr. said on broadcast after the Mitchell - Mayweather bout "Mayweather want's to take advantage of the old guys, not Hatton or Cotto". Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it !!

I don't really understand the whole tune-ups thing either. I say he needs maybe one tune up because Floyd is fighting Zab, then the fight should happen then surely, Hatton definetely is the type that wants the biggest out there, with 40 wins under his belt 2 belts and a nice bank balance he can go for it, but who do people want to see Ricky fight anyway? Cotto and then Mayweather, because he'd need god as his promoter to pull that off, it took Frank Warren years to get Tszyu.
