Who seriously wants to see Gamboa fight? The guy is an absolute joke. Garcia-Uchiyama is one of the better fights that can be made in the sport, I'm jumping for joy at the thought of it.

Does anyone think Gamboa, that mental(and physical) midget would have any chance against Garcia. You have one of the most polished, mentally strongest fighters in the game vs one of the sloppiest, inconsistent, mentally weak fighters in the game.

Gamboa and Victor Ortiz should have a love child and sacrifice it to Bob Arum.

I wanna see this fight, but I also wanna see Uchiyama be tested against other fighters in the U.S. I wouldn't mind Uchiyama vs Garcia. Some of these Japanese fighters are dark hourses of their divisions, but preferred to stay at home and get the money there.

Garcia is afraid and ducking. It worse if Gambia doesn't deserves to be afraid of, because your Mickey mouse is a big chicken afiad of a midget as you said

None of us know what the negotiations were like, or to what extent they reached. Gamboa didn't just tweet the 500k figure, he appeared on ESPN's "A Los Golpes" and affirmed that figure before JCC and a couple of Mexican broadcasters. I know that doesn't prove anything, but I consider it a damn sight better than a few "tweets."

This is a very real possibility. Who knows? But even if that were the case, why would that be enough to kill the fight? Numbers are batted around all the time in any form of negotiation.

HBO obviously thinks more people want to see Mikey fight Gamboa than Uchiyama. And, from what I've seen, they're right.

This was Garcia's fault. Arum is in damage control right now.

All good tho. Uchiyama will KO the chinny hypejob. Luckily for him he won't be exposed on HBO.

IS not only Arum's fault. His team, specially his brother, made a lot of resistance to the fight because they wanted to duck.

I'd rather watch Garcia vs Gamboa than Garcia vs Uchiyama.

And I thnk most people do.

Well, if Gamboa was asking for crazy money and playing hardball then Arum could have just been totally exasperated with him (given their past history.) He wouldn't have had the patience to play the high-low game with him and so he just killed the fight.

That's around the time when Gamboa suddenly reversed gears and started publicizing that he would fight for $500k but by then it was too late.

Just conjecture on my part. None of us know what really happened.
