If you're cherry picking world champions and top 3 contenders, I have no problem with it. If those fights are cherry picks, so be it. If every fight you take is a cherry pick outside of 1 man who's on the down slope of his career, so be it. I have no problem with it.

those guys are "a champion" we all know who "the champion" is in the weight class. why do floyd fans feel compelled to run off paper belts, as if they feel the need to justify his opponents. i hear from some fans that belts dont matter, and call them paperbelts. fact is floyd has fought some good, some great opponents. no need to try to defend his resume, it doesnt need defendingMaidana- WBA Champ (coming off his biggest win)
Canelo- WBC/WBA Champ (coming off his biggest win)
Guerrero- Interim WBC Champ (coming off his biggest win)
Cotto- WBA Champ (coming off his biggest win at the weight)
Ortiz- WBC Champ (coming off his biggest win)
Mosley- WBA Champ (coming off the win that solidified his p4p status)
Keep on cherry picking Floyd.Comment

"world champions" is subjective. so are top 3 contenders. there is only one champ per division. this is why NAMES matter not rankings or paper titles. If you're cherry picking world champions and top 3 contenders, I have no problem with it. i dont care what anyone says no one views guys like baldomir and diaz "champions"Comment

In an interview that I saw, Mayweather seemed earnest in his complaint of not getting credit for his efforts. This is an intresting post that has some merit to it even though Floyd said that as a sarcastic response to those who don't give him credit.
A question-Why is it that posters on NSB parse floyds words out of context and/or take them literally but do not do that across the board with every fighter?
To answer your question, Floyd's the highest paid, highest profile, best (so they say) p4p undefeated fighter on the planet. Such fame does not exist without consequence, especially if there is any controversy involved.Comment

How does coming off a big win make one elite/a true champion?
The answer is it doesnt. Its ketchup on rotten meat. This goes for all fighters.Comment

hmm, perhaps ur right when speaking on just this board. but in general, i see alot of people on both sides.... the hardcore floyd fans really disguised as pacman haters as well. these idiots are really closet racists, who have a deep hatred for filipinos. they post just as much BS as these pac fans u say you seeNo it isn't the same and you know it. This board is littered with posters who do the above.
Its always the same posters who say they are not going to watch a floyd fight that do the above. It would be nice that if you like or hate floyd that these kinds of posters are exsposed and nuetered.Comment

No, it's just pointing out the idiocy of the statements that Floyd doesn't take tough fights and that Floyd fights nobodies. When you are consistently fighting world champions, it makes the previous statement look flat out foolish. The fact of the matter is that regardless of who Floyd fights he's going to be the favorite, some of you may hate it, some of you may not want to admit it, but it's the truth. There is no fighter out there that would enhance his place on the ATG pole.those guys are "a champion" we all know who "the champion" is in the weight class. why do floyd fans feel compelled to run off paper belts, as if they feel the need to justify his opponents. i hear from some fans that belts dont matter, and call them paperbelts. fact is floyd has fought some good, some great opponents. no need to try to defend his resume, it doesnt need defendingComment

I don't pay for ANY of Floyd's fights unless he is fighting a fighter I like.
Why pay when you can see it on youtube the next day? Especially if after 18 years of cherry pickin, you still don't wanna fight Manny?Comment

This is what I will never understand, how are these opponents not legitimate? No one is saying these are ATG opponents, no one is saying that these guys are going to beat Floyd, what we are saying is that Floyd is fighting good opponents coming off of their best performances. What is wrong with that? We know the top rank fights aren't happening, and you can act like a little kid in a store that can't get his candy all you want and pretend like the fights are makeable but the reality is they are not. No one likes it, but we aren't gonna sit here and cry about it because it won't help anything. So, consistently beating good opponents with titles, add to the fact that Garcia and Lara (future p4p fighters) will be added to Floyd's resume, I'm totally fine with it. what are we crying about?Comment
