I won't go as far as to say Provo is ducking Rios. And I'd probably pick Provo to win that fight. Not because he's that much better a fighter. But because he has less wear-n-tear. That said, Provo has probably replaced Matthysse as the most overrated fighter in boxing. He's a good lil fighter. But he's a limited guy that's not nearly as big a threat to elite foes as his recent d1ck jumpers think he is. And I'm pretty sure he's already been tabbed by his quasi promoter Bob Arum as the Bradley-Pacquaio II loser's comeback opponent. So they're not gonna risk him against anybody with a pulse. Insert Tony Demarco. A blown up lightweight moving up and coming off a brutal, one sided beatdown and KO loss.

Brandon Rios vs Ruslan Provodnikov would be a great fight but Brandon is asking for a title shot after back to back defeats, I think he should at least win a rematch with Alvarado at 140 and maybe even another significant fight at 140 to make a better case for himself.

As far as Antonio DeMarco vs Ruslan, I also think that's a great fight and I actually think that DeMarco will be a lot stronger at 140 then he was at 135 because it really looked like he was killing himself to make 135. I hope that DeMarco does get the fight and puts on the fight of his life surprising everyone and winning it.

Rios & Alvarado fighting each other, neither having a title, neither a top contender, both embarrassed in their first fight with top echelon fighters, does nothing for the career of either Rios or Alvarado. One of them beats the other, and still neither have beaten a top fighter. They both need to go war with the likes of a Thurman or Matthysee or Guerrero or Alexander or Peterson or Berto and see how they come out from that level of fighter, which would be an upgrade of talent to fight next, as opposed to fighting each other in a meaningless fight.

I actually like the fight. DeMarco is solid and should give Prov some stuff he hasn't really seen.

I'm sure Rios can get his shot if he gets some momentum back. He looked terrible against Pac.

I dont understand what the roadblock is for this fight. Rios is a big boy he can make his own decisions if he feels he can make 140 then whats the problem?? If he comes in over then penalize his asss. This fight MUST be made in 2014 for boxing heads! No ifs ands or buts!

You just explained why the fight isn't happening, Provodnikov wants to defend his belt at lt.Welter and nobody actually believes Rios will make that weight so why should he have to cut down and his opponent be allowed to come in at well.. whatever he can.

This isn't Canelo making a mil+ who can give up 6 figures to buy a lb, this fight will happen Rios can sit his ass down and wait his turn.

Ruslan face cant take punches, he will come out looking worser then the way Rios left Murray.

and that is the reason Ruslan and his people dont want the Rios fight cause Rios will badly beat Ruslan face up and the doctors will stop up due to grotesque swelling.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass about this fight. Provo is in the winner's bracket and Rios is in the loser's bracket. If Provo wants to fight at jr welterweight, fine. But why not target THEE jr welterweight champion Danny Garcia. Or even Matthysse, who's higher up the jr welter food chain than Rios.

Garcia doesn't want to fight Provo; he's already been asked and declined. Ask Garcia why he's fighting the clown he's about to fight... No different than Provo fighting his opponent. These guys don't have to have a war every single fight out. Provo gave Bradley a beatdown at '47, then went to '40 and gave Alvarado a beatdown getting his title. He's allowed to defend it. He called out Marquez and heard crickets. Bradley is fighting Pac, Rios wouldn't fight Provo at '40 until Provo signed to fight someone else at '40, then Rios was all over his image control claiming he could have fought at '40; then why not speak up and fight Provo at '40 when u had the chance???? So Provo will knock this clown out at '40, and be back up calling someone out at '47, no problem. He's a warrior; he'll fight either class. Garcia needs to man up the next time they mention Provo to him.
