Even if that is completely true he would still beat Maidana. Hatton would smother him and land quick punches inside. He wouldn't let Maidana fight coming forward. I actually think Hatton would stop Maidana late.

Hatton was a much better fighter than Maidana.

Lol Hatton only beat past prime fighters... At least be beat fighters who had a prime to be past.

I love Maidana but his best wins are against overhyped never has beens Ortiz and Broner.

People hanging their hat on the Tsyu win but that guy was winding his career down by the time he fought Hatton, by his own admission. Also look to the Juan urango fight. Didnt a "prime" Hatton struggle with Jaun Urango?
He has better range and better one punch power. That's all I will give you. Hatton gave plenty of angles inside. You don't think Hatton would have taken Broner out? Broner's head would have been spinning with how Ricky would attack him.

Everything Hatton does is so much faster than Maidana. He moves his hands and feet so much faster. Not that Hatton wouldn't struggle or even be hurt or dropped. I still think he would overcome Maidana because he's much faster.

I don't want to hear Broner as a speed comparison either because all he did was just stand there with his guard up like a damn fool. Hatton would pivot in and out and attack Broner with power punches.

Finally some common sense. Definitely some revisionist history. Now ricky hatton has become joe frazier with the head movement and has become a chavez sr. level body puncher.

Who was the best fighter prime hatton beat? a past prime kostya who was screwed by the refs yet was able to land countless shots on hatton? ben tackie? maussa? juan urango?

            Just

go through the votes and take away all the brits biased ass votes and all the floyd haters voting for hatton because they are currently trying to crap on maidana and you get basically a even poll result.
And Ortiz and Broner are killers now?

Alexander controlled Maidana with his clinching, which whether you like it or not is part of boxing and part of Hatton's style. Someone who can counter going backwards and has quick combination punches like Cotto would have been hell for Hatton. Maidana is neither. Broner made him look a lot better than he really is.

Maidana struggled with Morales and Corley also so don't start breaking down wins and losses.

The only thing Maidana murders is the act of trying to box.

Hatton did EVERYTHING better than Maidana. You can say Maidana is a poor man's Ricky Hatton.

i cant believe people overrating hatton. i never thought he was a great fighter. People are overstating his body punching and his boxing skills. Hatton was a spoiling brawler.

the floyd fight will answer this question.

I bet maidana does better than hatton.

ill be bumping this thread after the floyd maidana fight.

It would probably be a really good fight, both are pressure guys but Hatton is an inside mauler and Maidana likes his space.

Maidana has some advantages but he needs space to really hurt people and he is not the sort of boxer that is going to just keep Hatton off him. SO either he hurts Hatton or possibly busts him up stopping the fight or he probably ends up losing a decision because the fight will get fought in a place and a way he probably can't win.

I would say Hatton would be Maidana best win without a doubt, I don't think the same about the reverse but Maidana would be high up on Hatton's list.
