Maidana was the better option RIGHT NOW, he has a welterweight title, coming off a HYPED win. Social media blew that win up so theyll know who he is for the PPV.

Against Floyd he'll probably throw 300 punches and land 30.

Floyd has fought harder punchers. Canelo and Mosley come to mind.

They also fought tentative, got drawn into trying to outbox Mayweather. Maidana doesn't do that. Canelo doesn't have that much power either. He has a history of failing to hurt smaller fighters even while landing clean.

I have no problem with unification bouts, especially against a Champion who's earned his shot. Neither Floyd or Manny want to do what's necessary to fight each other, and neither Tim Bradley or Danny Garcia want to fight Floyd. Marcos is the best option available, as Floyd adds yet another World Champion on his resume.
