  • Joe Frazier is an overrated boxer just because he's an American who held the world title people suddenly think he is better than Wladimir Klitschko, Wlad has all but dominated the division whilst Joe Frazier couldn't even be the best in his which wasn't that strong of an era!

Joe Frazier would of lost to David Haye who Wladimir owned.

What are you saying here with Frazier's win over Ali and Berbick's win over Ali are the same?

But David Haye, seriously? The hypocrisy of some posters... one minute Haye is overrated (which is my opinion, btw), the next he beats ATGs.

            Woaaaaah.

I'm trying to stay mild mannered here, but Frazier loses to Haye????? GTFOH with that BS.

Not a strong era????? The early 70s are widely accepted by most boxing historians as the very best HWT era.

Do me a favor Jr and take the time to actually watch Frazier fight. No one and I mean NO ONE who actually watches Frazier fight would ever believe he would lose to Haye. The wind from one of Fraziers left hooks would make Hayes big toe fall off!

              • History no doubt remembers and will continue to remember Joe Frazier as an all-time great during a time when heavyweight boxing was at its peak. People will remember Wlad as a boring fighter who fought during one of the weakest eras in heavyweight history. Frazier also came up the hard way while Wlad had things made from the beginning. People also appreciate a boxer that had a hard life that shows in his character and the grit in his personality. There is also a certain humbleness that Frazier had despite all of this that seemed genuine unlike Wlad's diplomatic, scripted, acted and robotic approach, sort of like his style inside the ring. That's why people appreciate Gatti so much because he was real in and outside the ring despite major character flaws.

See what I mean when the shoes on the other foot and you question one of the so called greats this is what happens....
Who in the 70s was that good that Frazier beat?
Name someone other than Ali or Foreman, its completely exaggerated.

The people who stick up for Frazier are the same people who claim Lewis isn't a good heavyweight and wouldn't beat Larry Holmes who got flattened by Mike Tyson.

Imo that ATG is one of the most overrated fighters in the HW history, its a simple fact Americans hold onto historical values and hate the fact that the HW division has evolved and that the small HWs they use to produce wouldn't compete as a HW in the modern day.
Its easy for people to say bad stuff about the current era because the past can't be compared but nostalgia happens all the time...
It happens with football, it happens with gaming and all other sort of things people think what was of the past was better but you've got no proof to say a small HW like Joe would of done much in that division when he couldn't even beat a unmotivated Foreman.
