    The Hopkins-Tito KO

no one ever really talks about the specific part of the KO itself but to me that may have been the greatest or one of the greatest single moves (or whatever you want to call it) in boxing history. The way Tito throws his patented left hook but Hopkins did something you rarely ever see done.

He actually block Tito's left hook with his own left forearm. Thats crazy. He brought his left arm across his body to block Tito's left hook. Then to finish it off in that same single motion he comes back with his own right right hook even though he's a righty. Just an ATG move to me that I think goes somewhat overlooked.

you can see it here live at the 1:16 mark and the replay at like 1:17:30

he missed an uppercut and happened to use his hand which was already there from the missed uppercut so it's not all that amazing as you make it sound but still amazing performance in general

I disagree. I think it was a block. He was even about to do it a lil before tht when he thought Tito was going to throw it. He didnt miss that uppercut by that much especially at that time when he was having target practice on Tito

He punched with Trinidad. Something more boxers today need to do more off.

On a side note Trinidad still asking for Hopkins to accept a rematch.

I wonder why Hopkins didn't want a rematch or why Hopkins didn't duke it out with the smaller man. Hopkins played it safe for the first part of the fight, but can't blame him he won.

He didn't miss that was a calculated move to set up the big shot. Watch in slow motion where he places it and how quickly he follows that was anticipated.

i mean look at the 3rd replay shot. It was clearly a calculated block he was setting up. He was waiting on that Tito hook. I have always loved that move and I talk about it all the time but it goes overlooked. Maybe thats why. Maybe people think it was a missed punch. That is a good argument but I dont think it was. I think he intended to block it

Why would he want a rematch fighting a guy he destroyed? Plus Don King. Hopkins has always hated King for what he did to him throughout his career and only fought King fighters when necessary.

As for the fight, Hopkins masterfully broke him down over 12 rounds what more you want?

It really was an ATG move. You can tell it wasn't simply a missed punch because of where his left was placed and how QUICKLY he followed with the right. Calculated and perfectly timed. That was Hopkins at his absolute peak.

Are you ******? Its beautiful, perfect catch and counter, but that is the same way every fighter in history has blocked a left hook, nothing special about it. He kept his glove pinned to his face, like he always does, and capitalized on Tito being lazy bringing his hook back low and not moving his head.
