Why not? If someone challenged me to a fight in the street and I walked away, spectators would think I'm a coward. Boxers should be held to higher standards, not lower ones. They are getting paid large sums of money and chose the profession themselves.

You dont have to insult him as hes not ducked'em at all. If anything he mentioned Kovalev being part of the 3 fight hbo deal. Its just that Kovalev who cant keep Stevenson's you know what out of his mouth. Trynna indicate to the public Stevenson is running. Its gonna play well for Kovalev cuz Stevenson will fight Pascal most likely after Fonfara and then last fight of the deal Kovalev. Till then he can yap yap and yap.

Kovalev wants all the belts, Stevenson just wants money. I used to be a fan of Adonis but if he's going to duck Kovalev that'll be over with. I'm becoming less of a fan already with his tactics plus the usual slack jawed fans hanging off his nuts as if they're going to share in his "wealth". Stevenson isn't close to being a star in Canada, he's just nearing the end of his career and needs to secure paydays that he wouldn't get if he were to be KO'd so soon by Kovalev.

Why would HBO sign both of you to exclusive contracts and not match you up? It'll happen. Be patient.

But right now Stevenson hasn't signed a long-term HBO contract, he's still negotiating it. He could be asking for silly money to face Kovalev or considering a jump to Showtime for a Hopkins fight. So I can understand Kovalev talking like this because it seems like whether or not the fight happens will be decided any day now based upon how these negotiations go.
