I love how the people in here say Kovalev "doesn't deserve" the fight, even though a fight between him and Stevenson is clearly the fight every boxing fan wants to see. And he's beaten some decent fighters in Campillo and Cleverly.

if Stevenson can get Hopkins after Shumenov, go for it
if Hopkins wins that fight, he's a bigger fight than Kovalev
though he'd likely be ok there, Froch's unproven as a LHW
no reason for Stevenson to take him over Kovalev
175 could be unified within the next yr
and Stevenson-Kovalev is probably the best fight to be made there
if neither of them loses, they better fight each other

I don't think anyone is saying Kovalev doesn't "deserve" the fight. At least I'm not. I think most people feel he and Stevenson are the best two light heavys in the world. I'm simply saying that Stevenson has better options. Well, at least one better option.
