It took Golovkin all of 9 months to get to Ward's position. He's probably already a bigger star, and is only going to grow from here.

GGG been a pro nearly as long as Ward. He's quite a bit older too.

I'm not sure I follow, but let me put it differently. Is Chavez jr. a good fighter? No. Has he beaten any world class opponents? No. Is he a star? Yes. Why? Because he puts butts in seats. People are interested in his fights. That simple.

WHY people are interested doesn't matter. It could be because of a legendary father (Chavez jr.), and exciting and destructive style (GGG) or untouchable boxing skills (Floyd).
