Why are so many people so high on Rigo?

Obvious not THAT many people are "high" on Rigo (As you can see by most of the post in here). Heck, HBO is even refusing to show him on TV. Arum doesn't want to get him fights.. So how are "so many people high on Rigo" Seems to me that whenever a """""Slick""" fighter makes a little noise """Slick""" haters always want to cry about it..

I see him listed on dude's P4P Top 10 lists and it makes me laugh. He may get there,he is a tremendous talent, but he is not a top 10 P4P anywhere near my list and I appreciate the artists too in boxing. His resume is B level at best right now. If Lomachenko beats Salido then awesome for him but he will be nowhere near top 10 P4P lists either.

I hear you but The Ring has him 8th (Canelo is 9th by the way). I think that's pretty deserving considering Donaire was a top 5 P4Per at the time Rigo beat him.. Salido was never a P4Per so I agree with you on that...

Yes great amateurs don't always mean great pros, but Donaire was consider a great pro, no? And he beat him pretty easy, right? Ambeko always gave good fights.. Beat him pretty easy too.. So how does that statement apply to Rigo?

My point is this, Rigo is getting enough crap as it is.. Do people praise his boxing skills, yes (as they should). But no one is putting him in a pedestal...

Rigondeaux hasn't even fought a world class aggressive fighter yet. We don't even know how he reacts under pressure.

I won't dispute that Rigondeaux is excellent but these claims that he's unbeatable are ridiculous to me.

He has plenty of flaws from what I see.

I've seen people say H2H Prime for prime he beats Pacquaio. I don't understand how you can say that at this point.

I don't claim he's unbeatable, but it will be very hard for anyone to both land and not get discouraged by what's landing on them. Mares is the only guy who can fight at 122 that I'm sure gives Rigo a good fight. I'm a Santa Cruz tard and believe he would as well, but I admit my bias there.

Now 122 Pacquiao beats Rigo. That guy didn't give a crap.

I have not been overly impressed with Rigo, sans the Donaire fight.

Rigo won that fight and looked pretty good. He was down on the canvas and got back up. Donaire wasn't busy enough and Rigo gave him a boxing lesson.

I have also watched Rigo lose to Ricardo Cordoba and hang on for dear life in that fight. He was given a SD win. I scored the fight for Cordoba.

I mean Casey and Rico Ramos are solid pros but not elite or upper world class by any means. Maroquin and Abeko are good good B level pros but they've lost every step-up fight that they have had.

Fighting solid guys is good/very good...but not top 12-15 P4P good.

Rigo may become a top 10 p4p guy in the next year or two. He has good skills, great amateur backround, and shows flashes of brilliance. But alas, he is not a tv friendly fighter (?yet) and will have a hard time getting the big fights that he needs to prove his "greatness" against these fighters without the big tv money.

Rigo got kd of a clinch and was not even a little shaken not to mention he never lost to Cordoba, and even if you where Cordobas mom you would not have scored that for him, but he did look bad and unmotivated, but back to Donaire. The remainder of that round where he got kd actually the whole fight and what happened in the 12th it was as if Rigo was toying with him as if he had fought Donaire or someone like him 100 times before yet Donaire had the face of a guy who was confronted with a whole new level of fighter, and didn't know wtf to do.

Oh and lets not forget he did that to Nonito Donaire a top 3-5 depending who you ask p4p guy in his prime not Lepai that's what makes him impressive a guy should not be judged on his performances and wins against lesser competition he should be judged on what he does when he is faced the best .

Salido would be very interesting. If people are going to hold Rigo to the Mayweather standard or claim he's better, that's not an unrealistic fight. Rigo's a small super bantam the way Mayweather's a small WW. I wouldn't blame Rigondeaux for not moving up, though.

Rigo has excellent talent but nowhere near top 10 P4P,right now.I admit that he looked pretty damn good vs Donaire but that is one fight vs an excellent opponent.Abeko is a good B/B+ level pro,nothing more.

P.S. He was just awful vs Cordoba and should have lost 114-112. He ran and stopped fighting after the knockdown.

imo, hes 1 skilled mofo, kina like sweet pea, BUT, he doesnt step on the gas when he's either hurt or is beating the sh.it outta his opponents. Its unfortunate that his frame is so small as there arent a whole lot of BIG fights out there for his weight/size
