P.S. He was just awful vs Cordoba and should have lost 114-112. He ran and stopped fighting after the knockdown.
If you think there are 4 fighters in the world better than Guillermo Rigondeax, you're lying to yourself. IMO he has to be in the top 4 p4p.

A guy never has to move up but I don't think 126 would be too much for him.

Donaire was considered a top 5 pound for pound fighter when Rigo beat him easily. When I see him fight I see a fighter of great skill, speed and power. If you don't see this feel free not to think much of him. I go by what my eyes tell me and they tell me Rigo is great and pound for pound perhaps the best fighter alive. He is a champion and has never had a close fight and he has knocked out many fighters with body blows. I don't expect any fighter his weight to defeat him for several years.

How do you figure that???! He got knocked down in the sixth and had won all rounds til then and scored a knockdown of his own in the fourth you're forgetting that. He just got lazy after that and got caught sleeping because he felt he had it in the bag then after the knock down it just made him just want to be done with it because he felt he had it in the bag and looked bad but not even then was he loosing every round clearly. Lets not forget he fought >Cordoba< who is no pushover in his 7th pro fight as well maybe his amateur instinct kicked in because he felt he had it in the bag who knows.

He is a guy who fights to what he perceives is his level of competition that's actually the same reason he didn't win the only major tournament he never got gold in that he participated in. Again a guy who beats a top 3 p4p guy gets a spot without questions asked, and there are MANY who have seen that list without even accomplishing what Rigo has in 12 fights in their 20+ the name Broner comes to mind he was there when you have names like that and others in that list how the fk are you going to say that the guy who beat one of the top 3-5 guys in it with ease to top it off does not deserve a spot? You can have a beef with his style that's fine not everyone likes the same color or ice cream, but until he gets beat he is where he deserves to be.

Rigondeaux is obviously a special fighter and highly skilled. He can be boring but the opposition isn't really helping.

you have to understand the sport of boxing to see what makes rigo so good. if you do his greatness is impossible to ignore.

the sense of distance, understanding of angles, flawless technique, boxing intelligence, speed, balance, power etc.

i cant watch rigondeaux shadowbox without being overwhelmed by his abilities, i mean the footwork alone is enough to know this guy is something special.

watching him actuallly get in the ring and outsmart, out skill and outbox everyone in his path.. i dont see how someone can miss how special this guy is, i honestly cant. only explanation in my mind is they simply dont know enough about boxing to recognize a great fighter when they see one.

Because he became a unified champ after his 12th fight and knocked off the #1 guy n the division to do that.

How often do we see a guy with such few fights accomplish what he has?

I can understand the skepticism given the fact that he doesn't have many pro fights, but he has all the tools and then some. The man is immensely talented, and let's face it, beating Donaire the way he did was very impressive.

I'm not that high on him, but I have to admit that he's the best in his division
