You know Lee got this fight because he will help fill the THeatre at MSG with loud fans who will purchase plenty of beer from the vendors. If you saw the Chavez fight this fight is a BLOWOUT on paper.

Like I said, if you know why Lara isn't happening then you knew the same thing when GGG brought up his dream fight Yet very few GGG fans brought up these reasons then-then it was scared, ducking etc. Its awfully hard to get mad when posters now apply the label to GGG.

GGG has world class skills. Put them to the test!
GGG nationality is the only reason he doesn't have the same amount of fans, come on if he was British/Mexican or god forbid American the fan base would be massive, him being from Kazakhstan doesn't do him the biggest favour he has to work harder for it unlike some of the spoiled b**** of your country including Canelo and other countrymen.

You'd think Martinez would atleast see the position GGG is in and think well I was him at one point of my career and nobody really gave me the chance but selfishness runs through most boxers veins.

Explain why Ward/Bhop would be willing to go down to 160lbs to fight Floyd?
Does Ward just copy everything Bhop does/says?
Seriously the most irritable little man award in boxing definitely goes to that uncharismatic douchebag, you'd throw some sort of claim into well Wards the champion at his division so he has the right to stay at 168 and GGG should move up for him which is BS.

Lara wanting a fight with GGG at 154lbs?
I don't get it... If GGG calls out Andre Ward (whom I may add said he'd be willing to go down to 160lbs to fight Floyd) why don't people mention that?

I wouldn't mind seeing the fight at a catchweight if GGG intends on moving down to 154lbs to compete in that division but from what it looks more like is that GGG just wanted that one big name to fight then move his way through MW to SMW.

Could you imagine If we just got rid of these super divisions, problem solved less need for people ducking (Martinez) and more room for competitive divisions.
Lara wanting to fight GGG is the same thing as GGG wanting his "dream fight"-its a case of a lesser known fighter attaching his name to a more well known fighter to generate attention by asking for a fight that wont happen given the network affiliations and the current political climate.

WHat is different is the general response on NSB and how the better known fighter is being labeled.

GGG doesn't have to fight in America does he?

The same sellfishness that GGG is extending to Sergio Mora?

You are right that all fighters say they will move up/down to chase a huge paycheck. WHat is different is the way posters respond, which is at the heart of the discussion in this and other threads.

Its fine that you are a GGG fan. Just make sure that when he doesn't fight someone you use the same words and phrases to escribe him as you do other fighters. Then no one will have a problem.

I never said that GGG was less financially motivated than other boxers Dunn, I've repeatedly said GGG ain't going to 54 except for big money. When a boxer says they're open to offers from anyone, I think it kjnda goes without saying that the fights have to be financially viable.

I also called BS on everyone saying Floyd was ducking, not least cos GGG never called him out anyway (nor was in any position to do so without looking foolish) even if the promo war hadn't prvented it. And for the record, I've never said Floyd ducked anyone (though I've gotta admit I'm underwhelmed by the choice of Khan for an opponent).

As for Lee, yes, there can realistically be only one outcome, but that doesn't necessarily make Lee a bad fighter, just one who'll be badly overmatched (although bear in mind he was outboxing jr) and stopped.

Naturally Geale would have been a very much preferred option, but he didn't want it, and as you correctly point out, Lee has both name recognition and a built in fanbase which should make for a good night at MSG (one reason. of course why Stevens was the big frontrunner for the Nov 2 fight over say, Mora).

Difference is Floyd is a 154lbs fighter and offers alot and has titles at that weight division, he wasn't asking Floyd to drop weight or gain weight to do the fight he was asking him to merely defend the belts that he has at that weight division.

Ofcourse GGG has to fight in America, where else will he get the attention from fights?

All the other big promoters are mainly in USA, Germany, Britain where else apart from there?
Its virtually impossible for him to make a name for himself fighting only in his homeland of Kazakhstan.

Also to add as I did answer that last question, Bhop and Ward were asking Floyd to move up to MW to do the fight...
I think that is definitely different from asking a fighter who was already at 154lbs for a fight at his current weight.

              • You can trace the scumbag bandwagon from Pac getting KTFO, to Donaire getting embarrassed, to Matthysse getting beat, and now it is onto everyone is scared of Golovkin. If you notice though, one "side" seems to be backing all the winners. The real question is if that is just blind luck, or does one "side" actually at least partially understand what they're watching?

Marquez is a steroid cheat lucky punch foot stomp trick, Rigo is a boring runner, Garcia was losing before he punched Lucas eye shut!

Nah, you got it all wrong. Lara ain't getting this fight cause he don't bring in the viewers the way Adama and Stevens do. Fights not airing in America and being shown on NBCSN > a fighter that fights on Showtime.

Floyd is a ww who fought at 154 3 times-ODH, Cotto, and Canelo-because each fight was very profitable. GGG wants the money from a floyd fight, not the 154lb titles.

He dosn't have to fight in AMerica-he does for the money. The same reason he called out floyd. The same reason everyone, including ward and bhop, calls out floyd.

GGG has a great skill set and would be tough for anyone. Jut Stop making GGG out to be something he isn't. He's a pro fighter who wants to make as much as he can while he can. His network has no problem discussing floyd but will not discuss ward.

He is relatively cheap labor and gets great ratings. So HBO will continue with this level of opponent for as long as they can. Nothing wrong with that.

But his willingness to fight is more and more about purse. His fans need to admit this.
