Floyd is going destroy Maidana it will look exactly like the canelo but worse.
Do people think Maidana would be competitive against Floyd?

All evidence indicates Maidana is an improved fighter. He is more powerful at 147 as well. He had that hiccup against Devon but he had never fought a clinchfest fighter like that and wasn't prepared.. His trainer wasn't even in his corner to advise him for that fight.A lot of people are mad, throwing out comments like "floyd rigged the poll because he wants an easy fight"
erm.....
So what, is Maidana not an easy fight then?
Maidana was getting pretty well schooled by khan until he finally managed to land a decent shot in like round 9, even if he lands that shot against Floyd (unlikely) Floyd rode out a bigger shot against Mosley and went on to dominate.
Maidana got taken to school by a very average floyd rip off in Devon Alexander, of 30 rounds scored by three judges, he won 1.
1.. out of 30.... against Devon Alexander.
I mean come on now. This is a gatti level fight for Floyd, Maidana is going to look like an ape in there, Maidana wont be able to land a glove on floyd, and floyd will land everything he throws, en route to a mid rounds stoppage
Hate on Khan all you like, but lets be real here, Maidana is just as easy a fight, if not easier (i'd probably pick khan to win one of the first two rounds at least)
Fast forward to possible may 3rd.. He has Ariza.. He has Garcia... He has a bunch of momentum. Also Floyd is getting older. I don't think he'll be as mobile as Castillo 2.. That takes a lot of youthful energy. So.. Floyd will stand in the pocket at times. And Maidana's looping angles, unchecked aggression, and rangey shots can spell trouble for the roll. Maidana has fight ending power. He just has to walk through Floyd's shots and land to the body and maybe look for head shots early or late...he is capable of an attrition type war like that. Is Floyd who I pick on paper? Of course. But I maintain Maidana would account for himself better than Mosley, Canelo, Guerrerro, and Ortiz did. Your Khan meanwhile, will have a nice gameplan....... That changes soon as he's hit flush.
Haven't seen you post in a while.. Nice points.Maidana will do better vs Floyd then he did Devon, he was truly awful that night and had no head trainer but since Garcia has worked with him his offence has smartened up ten fold, he is actually at times unpredictable now, uses a jab and throws combinations.
Maidana will win some rounds on activity like RG did and Maidana always has a punchers chance. (Floyd is so masterful at winning rounds that if he ever loses fairly it will be by KO IMO)
Khan is a shot fighter past his prime since he left Roach and perhaps more importantly since he left Ariza. those legs have gone skinny and weak and his already brittle punch resistance is even worse than before.
Khan in 2014 is not a better fighter than Maidana and would get wrecked in a re match. Khan has speed, but terrible Ring IQ, gets hit plenty for a so called skilled fighter and Floyd after a round or 2 will start to time Khan and i wouldn't be surprised if Floyd scores a stoppage.
Khan vs Floyd in 2010-11 would have been OK, but 2-2 in his last 4, no wins at 147, no momentum. I'm shocked he is close to getting the fight TBH.
Fights aren't won on paper. True story. And Maidana has intangibles, Castillo-like aggression, chin, and ko power in either hand.Valid point. And you know, Maidana seems to thrive in that heavy underdog role. Stylistically it seems as if he'll lose damn near every round, but it's not that simple. That's why they go through with the actual fights after all.
Fights aren't won on paper.
I'm certainly not gonna to be the one to go out on THAT particular limb (Maidana beating Floyd), but would I be surprised if Maidana performed much better than the overall boxing public expects? No, I wouldn't.Comment

and that chance on a % scale is around 1
Canelo is a bigger guy who is faster and hits just as hard cudnt land a decent blow, Maidanas chance are beyond slim to say the least
Also Broner had Maidana on the backfoot round 8 or 9 when he landed a right hand, Maidana has counter punch written all over his face, Floyd will not miss a counterComment

Maidana is the sort of fighter that will make every round competitive, and is tough as nails. Khan is the same but he would be KO'd, his power hasn;t travelled wellComment

Canelo wasnt aggressive enough.. and did not impose his size on Floyd like he should have. Maidana smaller.. but more proficient at aggression and imposing his body on his opponentand that chance on a % scale is around 1

Chino loses a lopsided UD. Khan gets KO. So I would like to Mayweather vs Khan. More exciting IMO.A lot of people are mad, throwing out comments like "floyd rigged the poll because he wants an easy fight"

Cheers, its as if Khan fans have forgot that he isn't the same fighter he was, he really has declined and hasn't even fought at 147 but it doesn't seem important to some. Maidana has earned this shot the hard way by climbing the rankings and winning a title.
I said before the Broner fight that If Maidana wins he wont get much credit for that win and Broner will be now labeled a bum yet experts picked Broner to steamroll maidana. he hasn't got the credit for that win from some.
I'm certain Khan is getting the fight anyway but it is what it is.Comment

Canelo was aggressive just when ur in the ring with Floyd its a different story
Everyone fights Floyds fight because Floyd dictates the terms in the ring, Maidana has no speed, flat feet, small arms, cant cut off the ring
Floyd will beat him with one hand tied to his back while counting money with his otherComment
