Do people think Maidana would be competitive against Floyd?

A lot of people are mad, throwing out comments like "floyd rigged the poll because he wants an easy fight"

    erm.....

So what, is Maidana not an easy fight then?

Maidana was getting pretty well schooled by khan until he finally managed to land a decent shot in like round 9, even if he lands that shot against Floyd (unlikely) Floyd rode out a bigger shot against Mosley and went on to dominate.

Maidana got taken to school by a very average floyd rip off in Devon Alexander, of 30 rounds scored by three judges, he won 1.

1.. out of 30.... against Devon Alexander.

I mean come on now. This is a gatti level fight for Floyd, Maidana is going to look like an ape in there, Maidana wont be able to land a glove on floyd, and floyd will land everything he throws, en route to a mid rounds stoppage

Hate on Khan all you like, but lets be real here, Maidana is just as easy a fight, if not easier (i'd probably pick khan to win one of the first two rounds at least)

    I fully endorse these comments.

I agree. Both aren't great options, I'd rather him face Khan so he doesn't take AB's belt

Maidana deserves it, plain and simple. He earned it.

Alexander is not a Floyd rip off. They fight nothing alike. Alexander reminds me more of a poor man's Manny Pacquiao.

This is the same thing people were saying when Broner fought Maidana.

Maidana is a completely different fighter now.

You never know, but when you look at the all of the measurables and factors it seems highly, highly unlikely that Maidana would be competitive against Floyd.

Maidana will do better vs Floyd then he did Devon, he was truly awful that night and had no head trainer but since Garcia has worked with him his offence has smartened up ten fold, he is actually at times unpredictable now, uses a jab and throws combinations.

Maidana will win some rounds on activity like RG did and Maidana always has a punchers chance. (Floyd is so masterful at winning rounds that if he ever loses fairly it will be by KO IMO)

Khan is a shot fighter past his prime since he left Roach and perhaps more importantly since he left Ariza. those legs have gone skinny and weak and his already brittle punch resistance is even worse than before.

Khan in 2014 is not a better fighter than Maidana and would get wrecked in a re match. Khan has speed, but terrible Ring IQ, gets hit plenty for a so called skilled fighter and Floyd after a round or 2 will start to time Khan and i wouldn't be surprised if Floyd scores a stoppage.

Khan vs Floyd in 2010-11 would have been OK, but 2-2 in his last 4, no wins at 147, no momentum. I'm shocked he is close to getting the fight TBH.

I agree that maidana wouldnt be much of a match for floyd stylistically and overall. He would probably look just reckless in there.

But at least we know its a guy that its gonna try and try it hard.

Also by now the Chino AB win also plays a big role, people still has that in their minds, Khan last performance against Julio was really poor.
