Comments Thread For: Testing Still Being Negotiated for Pacquiao-Bradley

So I see this as no different than that. I know that Richard Shaefer and Bob Arum back in early 2010 had said “look, can we just petition the commission and see if they’ll be willing to do additional testing on our dime? I want to present that to them because we want everything au****ious of the athletic commission.” I said “definitely.” Any promoter can petition the commission for anything. It doesn’t mean they’ll say yes or they’ll say no. So they both had agreed to that. I guess Mr. Pacquiao had agreed to that but Mr. Mayweather said no, he wasn’t going to do that. And that’s fine, I take no offense at that. I don’t think anyone should. So if they had done that—of course it would have to have been a joint-petition—if they had done a joint-petition to the commission for additional drug testing where they’d cover the cost so we wouldn’t have any budget issues, we would have been happy to do that. We’re still happy to do that. Again, my understanding is Golden Boy, Top Rank, and Pacquiao were in agreement to do that, but Mr. Mayweather decided not to do that, and that’s his right.”
*************.com: Now why would Mayweather have not wanted that? Is it because he wanted strict USADA testing?
Keith Kizer: “I don’t know if he wanted USADA involved or he wanted to spearhead it himself and not be a joint situation, a joint spearhead.Comment

Manny was always for testing. He just wasn't going to cable in to his accuser who made baseless claims. Manny, Bob and Richard were all in line with petitioning nsac for better testing. Floyd wasn't. He wanted to make his own rules on the testing.Comment

Why hasn't Manny done testing until the Rios fight? Manny was NEVER for "RANDOM" testing and you know that! He wanted a 30-day cut off date, but would settle for less, but never fully random! After getting KTFO by Marquez, he changed his tune. This is common knowledge by now!Comment

Yeah, Pacquiao had learned his lesson. And he most likely heard about Mayweather getting away with three positive test results. He's realizing ped cheats are real and are a menace to boxing.Last edited by maguirre; 02-06-2014, 01:04 PM.Comment

Wow, it's amazing how people revise history. I guess the whole fight falling apart because Manny refused OST testing in 2010 never happened.
Also Manny has been so in favor of testing that it took him only 4 years to have a fight where OST was taking place.Comment

The commission has been catching cheats recently, mostly coming from the Mayweather camp. They now probably have access to modern testing equipments. Unfortunately, they reveal the cheaters a week or so after the fight, which negates the purpose of protecting the fighters. But it is still better than letting them get away with it.

I find it hilarious that you guys are so quick to point out these supposed positive test by Mayweather. Yet you make no mention of Freddie Roach when he admitted a few weeks ago that Ariza would give Pacquiao shaddy substances. Pretty much said he was su****ious of what Ariza was giving Pacquiao all those years. Kind of goes hand in hand with why Pacquiao declined OST all those years, but of course his fans would never make that connection.Comment
