I heard he is not popular in Australia, esp. in comparison with Mundine.

Golovkin just fought off American TV but Geale cant?

I know it doesn't sound like much but not everybody is a Money Mayweather making 30+ million per fight. most fighters have to get by on a lot less.

the numbers are just an example.

Rodriguez vs Grachev doesn't apply because that was apart of a light heavyweight tournament sponsored by the prince of Monaco who put up the purse himself. do you think he was doing the same this time?

Since ggg is their centerpiece, they flush with cash, i dont see why they wouldnt offer good money to name opponents. Neither Murray nor Geale mentioned purses as a reason for passing.

I highly doubt Geale takes 50% of the ppv proceeds

Yeah that's plain simply duck from Geale. I don't remember him asking such conditions when he was fighting Sturm in Germany and for a word title for the first time ... Geale is a ho and I knew it from the beginning haha !

I'm a fan of both.if Geale isn't happy with the date then thats fine by me,it works both ways.GGG isn't a superstar in his own right just yet,if anything Geale has beat sterner opposition at this stage,in short a more impressive résumé.although it is blatantly obvious GGG is going to be a world class boxer, possibly and probably at Geale's expense this year some time.

I want Geale to face GGG,I believe it'll happen if both parties want it badly enough, and I believe Geale does.

In the mean time GGG vs Lee would be an attractive fight from my point of view.Lee has it in his head he's a superior boxer than Macklin, personally I think he wouldn't last a couple of rounds let alone the three Macklin lasted.also doing a better number on Lee than JCCJ managed, could hopefully help to sell JCCJ vs GGG down the line when GGG finally makes his inevitable move to 168.

Lee is skilled, but their is no way he can keep GGG off of him for too long, and I really don't give any chance to win whatsoever, but I see the pros of fighting Lee.it keeps GGG busy if Geale isn't willing to face him yet, surely that fight will happen if GGG wants it badly enough to wait for Geale.Geale is well within his rights to want to face GGG in front of a wider audience in front of his own people.I'm behind Geale all the way with his decision to be refused to be dictated too,he's been a champion himself and certainly represents a difference in class to what GGG has been facing, like it or not GGG needs Geale more than Geale needs him.

I'll emphasise once again I'm as big a fan of GGG as you are likely to find, but also just as big a fan of Geale.its a fight I believe Daniel loses, yet I believe he will take Gennady the distance.

they couldn't move the fight 1 week? Geale isn't allowed to be seen in his home country?

I saw that Geale vs Mundine did 44k. (don't know how accurate though) at $50 a buy that's 2.2 million.

even if Geale vs GGG did 10000 that'd still be 6 figures Geale would be losing out on. even if it were 5000 buys he'd still be losing at least 100k. no Aussie PPV means Geale stands to lose at least 100k or a few million if it sells as well as the Mundine fight.

so I'm not exactly seeing your point. HBO offered him terms that would make him lose money and exposure in his country all because they wouldn't move the fight one week?

and the Monaco offer was BS. that fight had no hope of generating the type of money that an HBO would.

you have a low ball offer and terms for a fight that are unacceptable. that seems like protection to me
Dude, you've got it completely wrong. If he doesn't take the fight he'll lose the entire purse! He'll get nothing, zero, zilch!

Unless of course, that Wood can earn him a payday worth more.
