Can Golovkin fight going backwards? not really. Is there someone in the division who can have GGG going backwards for most of the fight and not the other way around? not really. His footwork is to good.
Can GGG fight going backwards?

I've been saying for some time he cannot fight going backwards AT ALL! His balance goes all off and he looks totally confused. I've seen it too many times and he hasn't improved in this area. There's a reason why they've been very cautious with GGG and fighting smaller guys. Now they're starting to gain confidence and actually fighting MW's. There's noway he'll move upto 168, those bigger guys will take him back and beat him down imo.Comment

it's crazy to think that GGG vs any other champion or 168 champs is considered a "dream fight" lol. especially when alot of these dudes fight on HBO these fights should get made while GGG is still a rising star. then threads like this will get put to restComment

I think Stevens showed opponents are better to stand up to Golovkin and force him onto the backfoot. I see the bigger guys at 168 such as Bika, Ward and Kessler doing the same thing.Comment

Golovkin at 168 he'd be 3 lbs north at 170.
Can't really say because Golovkin won't move up it seems at least for now but it's not like Mayweather at 154.Comment

that cat Ndam I think would be a good fight to see this play out (not saying it should be made), just thinking out loud. Kirkland that would be good too. Both might be too small to last attempting that... but it's that type of short, quick and voluminous bursts that seem to be able to get ggg moving back, at the very least it stops him from hitting you. A combination of that and being able to move from him is what I think would, at the very least, make the scoring of his fights tougherComment
