he's alleged to have never been down or stopped in his amateur career. given how long he was an amateur, and how good his competition was in his international tournaments, that's extremely remarkable.

he's also shown very little effects from his opponent's punches so far as a professional. he walks straight through big shots. he hasn't been in with a true puncher at middleweight, but that's because there aren't any right now other than golovkin and quillin [a showtime fighter.]

he can't hit like edison miranda, kelly pavlik, gennady golovkin, arthur abraham, though. quillin is up there as well. those are what i'd call "true" punchers." even if they hit a durable opponent, a flush shot on the chin will spell the end of the fight.

lol that was a sick KO, did you hear the noise of it?

I don't know if I consider Stevens is a true puncher, I haven't watched enough of him. But, looking at his record at middleweight he's had 6 fights and 4 KO1s so he might be.

he can definitely ****. sharp left hook. it's an extremely short punch. do you think he hits as hard as pavlik, abraham, or golovkin? i don't think he's even in that conversation.

if you can believe it, that fight was on free national TV in the states, which is quite rare. that's what got stevens so much exposure, and eventually the golovkin fight. when he got on NBC he knocked guys out in one round.

Stevens is a very big puncher at 160, maybe bigger than Quillin although i'm not sure. Stevens hit Golovkin with half a dozen or so good punches but none of them seemed to be full impact flush left hooks.

Golovkin is certainly not as good backing up but who is going to be able to back him up for any length of time?

quillin has hurt more durable fighters. he can definitely punch hard. he dropped and hurt pretty badly winky wright. he drops almost all of his opponents, often more than once. his problem is that he doesn't pace himself well, and isn't a big time finisher. he might not breath correctly when he punches, he may not train hard, or he may just have a bad tank of gas.

quillin and stevens have at least one common opponent, and that's jesse brinkley. brinkley is nobody to write home about, and he beat stevens. quillin knocked him out in three rounds.

i don't know why i even bother responding to the guy who thinks edwin valero is in the discussion for top 10 punches of all time

and golovkin was hit with several flush left hands from stevens. a couple of big right hands, too. golovkin tucks his chin well, so the left hooks hit him on the face, and the right hands hit him on the forehead.

he has an amazing chin. one of the best in the sport by the look of things.

I highly doubt Lara's the one to get the job done... Almost positive he doesn't back GGG up unless it's late in the fight and GGG is overwhelmed by Lara's speed.

Other than that, I got GGG via TKO body shot
