Briggs & Lewis both have yapped right after that they would live to fight another day after facing him & STILL haven't made it into the ring years later. Vitali Klitschko's OPPONENTS never ever talk about a second helping with any true intent & in Briggs & Lewis's case a helping with anybody else was out of the question.

47 have tried & 47 have said I will never try again!
Yet he ducked Byrd who made him look foolish by making him miss more than ever before or after while giving up 40lbs and 8" in height, flying across the world on a weeks notice. He was so humiliated by the quit job he needed his better, lil bro to really handle business even though they were closely ranked the next several years and he promised his fans who were cheering Byrd.

Works both ways.. not too many would have taken on a defensive slickster like Byrd on one week notice or an alltime great Lewis.. coincidentially both of his defeats were on one or two weeks notice preparing for completely different fighters in Razor Ruddock & Cedric Boswell. He had enough courage to quit while ahead.. so obviously he had no shame in doing so.. knowing it was because of a shoulder injury.

Keep stating that one defense crap.. Vitali is in the top 5 or 6 for most consecutive title defenses.. just more hogwash you keep feeding the forum.. not for you to decide what value a belt holds.. it's recognized as a major belt & Vitali NEVER lost it in the ring... SO go get your facts straight...Mr. JOEL!

Talk about a quit job... he made two of the hardest punchers in history quit there's. ANOTHER record right there unless you can name another fighter to retire two of the greatest punchers in there division's history?

He was shamed or he would have rematched his conquerer.
